The Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) selection process has started. Candidates will be able to make their preferences at https://ais.osym.gov.tr between 27 July - 05 August 2022.

Atatürk University, which opened its doors to the world in 1957 with the aim of reaching ideas and knowledge and the ideal of raising modern generations, and celebrating its 65th anniversary this year, began to wait for its new companions with the selection process.

Atatürk University, which has carried out research and studies that will set an example for the scientific world with its education programs at international standards, strong academic staff and well-equipped infrastructure, continues its studies with the mission of "Moving Forward in the Service of Life".
Atatürk University, which was established on June 7, 1957, has been producing value since its establishment, and  universalizing the value it produces, mobilizing science for the problems of humanity. Today it continues its education and training activities with 23 Faculties, 13 Vocational Schools, 8 Institutes, 45 Research Centers, 1 School and 1 Conservatory, and a total of 91 academic units.

Atatürk University students, as a student-centred university, offers education in accordan with the active education model and equips the next generations with contemporary requirements. With its diploma bearing brand value, it has both the European Union approved diploma supplement label and the ECTS label. In this context, within the body of Atatürk University, which has 558 thousand graduates and 500 thousand undegraduates at present, there are 678 programs in total with 412 postgraduate, 266 associate and undergraduate programs.

Atatürk University, which hosts one of the most beautiful campuses in Turkey, has 6.5 million m2 open area and 1 million m2 closed area. Sharing information about the works carried out by Atatürk University, which brings tradition together with the future, Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı noted that they have succeeded in being the University of firsts with their expert academic staff, education and research opportunities. He also stated that they have trained theoretically and practically equipped students in associate, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs.

Rector Çomaklı mentioned that Atatürk University is among the most preferred universities thanks to its future vision, world view and international quality, adding that they are an education center that provides world-class higher education opportunities by closely following the latest developments in the scientific literature.

Çomaklı addressed the candidate students with the following remarks: “University life includes not only education, but also a culture, personality development, sharing, productivity and opening up to the world. Together with you, we have new hopes for the future. We are working hard to get you the best education. As a result of the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project that we started in this context, the quality education provided by our university was accredited by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK), and then our university, which showed a historical success, became one of the 23 Research Universities.

Çomaklı emphasized that they are a dynamic university that is committed to its history, that protects its cultural heritage and that constantly develops. He made the fallowing remarks: "Atatürk University offers its students a full campus life where they can develop themselves socially, academically and culturally, enjoying themselves at the same time. Rector Çomaklı stated that Atatürk University's doors are open to students who want to study at a second university, as well as candidates who are excited to receive university education with the start of the selection period. He said that higher education institutions offer the chance to have a second diploma for students who are studying or are just starting out or have graduated from any undergraduate or associate degree program, provided that they are not in the same field. WHAT DOES STUDENTS EXPECT?

SPORTS AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

Every year, an average of 5000 students attend the free-of-charge activities on the campus. Atatürk University has 10 sports halls, a stadium with a capacity of 3000 spectators with international standards, 2 swimming pools, 2 sports complexes (consisting of tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts and a mini football field), a sports center with international standards, a cafeteria, selected works of art, a reading hall, bowling and billiard hall, and a student center with robotic coding areas.

  Atatürk University has more than 100 student clubs. Along with the social, cultural, artistic and sportive activities, the clubs, which focus on professional activities that benefit academic education, also draw attention with activities that shape the habits of students to rest, have fun and engage in social participation.
  
  ENVIRONMENT OF PEACE AND CONFIDENCE

  There are a total of 600 security cameras, indoor and outdoor, on the university campus. The 350 personnel working in the Private Security and Protection Directorate Branch offer a safe and peaceful life opportunity by protecting the faculty, colleges and lodgings and the entire campus against all kinds of negativities that may occur.
  
  SOCIAL AREAS

  There are cafeterias on the campus of Atatürk University, where calory and nutrient rich meals which are of high quality and cheap are served according to the seasons under the supervision of dietitians throughout the year. In addition to the food and beverage areas throughout the campus, the canteens and cafeterias within the faculties and colleges also offer services that meet the food and beverage needs of the students.

TRANSPORTATION AND HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES

Domestic and international transportation to Erzurum is possible with air, land and railway connections. The distance to the University is ten minutes for those who come to the city center using these transportation routes. Between the city center and the campus, transportation is provided by public transportation vehicles belonging to the Metropolitan Municipality, as well as many public buses and minibuses. In-campus transportation is maintained by ring service.

Students coming from other provinces meet their accommodation needs in 20 dormitories with a total capacity of 25 thousand people belonging to KYK, and in around 200 private dormitories and apart facilities, which are within a 5-minute transportation distance from the city center.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Atatürk University gives scholarships to successful students and other students who have financial difficulties due to economic inadequacies through the Development Foundation within the University. In addition, the “Part-Time Student Employment Program” is also implemented in the Rectorate units.

HEALTH SERVICE

In the context of free health services, all students are under the guarantee of the state. There is 1 family medicine clinic on the campus and the Research Hospital, which is one of the largest hospitals in Turkey, meeting the health needs of all students for 24 hours. In addition, there are all kinds of dental treatment opportunities, along with emergency service for dental diseases. The animal hospital, on the other hand, provides veterinary services to the villages on certain days of the week with its mobile animal hospital project, in addition to providing friendly service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

SOCIAL AWARENESS ACTIVITIES

Atatürk University continues its social awareness projects throughout the year. Hundreds of social responsibility projects are implemented for all stakeholders of the ecosystem in cooperation with the Social Awareness Projects Center and student clubs.

DOUBLE AND MAJOR OPPORTUNITIES

Double major and minor education programs are actively carried out at Atatürk University. In addition to being able to have two different undergraduate diplomas in two different fields / programs thanks to the double major program, students can receive education in a different field outside their own fields with the minor program.
