Within the scope of the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project at Atatürk University, the awards were given at the 2021 Academic Incentive and Award Ceremony held in 7 dimensions.

Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, Middle East Technical University Faculty Member and Rector's Advisor Prof. Dr. Adem Kalınlı and Sabancı University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Oğuz Babüroğlu, Deputy Mayor of Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Fevzi Polat, Provincial Police Chief Levent Tuncer, university administration, many academicians and guests attended the ceremony held at the Cultural Center, 15 July National Will Hall. The program started with the music concert of Atatürk University Turkish Music State Conservatory.

Atatürk University Rector Prof.Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, who came to the podium to open the ceremony, said that he was happy to be together with the scientists who will receive awards at the Academic Incentive and Award Ceremony was held for the second time this year.

“We Continue Our Studies To Carry Our University To The Status Of A Universal World University”

Rector Çomaklı said, "The most important feature that distinguishes Atatürk University from other universities is that it has the history of the realization of one of the most important projects of the Republic of Turkey from its establishment to the present” and used the following expressions in his speech: It is seriously reviewing how it will restructure its academic values, educational methodologies and social role within the scope of its new projects and policies. Acting with this vision with our new administrative staff, we continue our efforts to carry our University to the status of a universal world university based on being a regional university. In this sense, we have made significant strides by taking big and bold steps. Atatürk University has embarked on the path where it will be positioned as a university at the forefront of universal science, works with a problem-oriented approach, can produce scientific solutions to social problems, is sensitive to social demands, as well as directs societal demands. In order to achieve these goals, intensive work at our University is carried out systematically. This effort took a concrete form with Atatürk University New Generation University Design and Transformation Project and started to produce important outputs.

Rector Çomaklı stated that the Academic Performance system, a product of the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project, was designed in 7 dimensions and the new generation university philosophy was implemented: “This system, in a way, means the return of Atatürk University to its founding mission. For the second time, we have received the results of the system where the social layer has come to the fore. We will release corporate performance results in 4 categories by the end of the month. Today, we will present their awards to our faculty members who are ranked according to the results obtained by taking into account the activities of 2021. I congratulate the faculty members who have already ranked and thank them for their contributions. These days when our work is intensified and the project is in the implementation phase, seeing our esteemed guests who have made important contributions to our New Generation University Design and Transformation Project has been a great source of morale and added great strength to us.”

“Award Ceremony Represents Atatürk University Culture”

Middle East Technical University (METU) Faculty Member and Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Adem Kalınlı said that Atatürk University has important traditions and one of them is that success is always complimented. Stating that Atatürk University was the institution where he first started to work, Kalınlı said that the transformation he experienced had repercussions in higher education throughout the country, and that it served as a role model for many fields, and that this provided significant gains.

Drawing attention to the fact that this home of science, which has a history of 65 years, has been at the top of the prestigious ranking institutions of the world in recent years and has made it a culture, Prof. Dr. Kalınlı stated that the award ceremony held today reflects another culture of Atatürk University, congratulated all the scientists who received the award and wished them continued success.

“Atatürk University Made Significant Breakthroughs in the Last 6 Years”

Stating that the search conferences held between 2018-2020 contributed significantly to the development of Atatürk University, Sabancı University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Oğuz Babüroğlu said that the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project came to life as a result of these search conferences.

Stating that the giant science center, which has 80 thousand formal students and 2 thousand 700 faculty members, has made significant breakthroughs in the last 6 years, Prof. Dr. Babüroğlu stated that 38 offices were established that support this transformation thanks to the 19 search conferences held and said: “There is an Atatürk University that acts the most comprehensively compared to other universities, has a command of its own data and processes this data and turns it into a product. Congratulations to our academics who were awarded in the fields of education, research and contribution to society related to the existence of universities, and Rector Prof. Dr. I would like to thank Ömer Çomaklı.”

At the Academic Encouragement and Award Ceremony, which was held for the first time in 2020 and implemented in 7 dimensions, this year, again, within the scope of New Generation University studies, education, research, contribution to society, research-based education, education-based social contribution, research-based social contribution blending the mission fields of Education, Research and Society. The awards given in the fields of contribution and multiplier contribution found their owners.

The program ended with a souvenir photo taken by the protocol committee and the award-winning academics.
