EID CELEBRATION CEREMONY WAS HELD AT ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY

Atatürk University academic and administrative staff came together at the Eid al-Fitr ceremony held on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, vice-rectors, general secretary and many academic and administrative staff attended the ceremony held in the foyer area of the Cultural Centre. Rector Çomaklı, who chatted with the participants of the ceremony for a while, congratulated the staff on Eid and wished them to spend many more good days in unity and solidarity.

"We had a bitter holiday"

Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, who touched upon the meaning and importance of the day by saying, "I hope that the Ramadan Feast we left behind will bring health, happiness and peace to the whole Islamic world, especially the Atatürk University family, and I sincerely congratulate the feast of all of us." Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said that they have always spent holidays in difficult processes in recent years with the pandemic and earthquake disaster.

"We Lost Our Lives"

Stating that the fire burns where it falls the most, Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said: "As Atatürk University family, we are also experiencing the pain of losing our brilliant students in the earthquake. Again, there were losses we experienced from the relatives of our staff. Here again, I convey my condolences to our students who lost their lives, their families and friends. They will always be a part of the Atatürk University family."

"Festivals are the occasion for increasing unity"

Emphasising that holidays are important days that strengthen unity and solidarity, Rector Çomaklı said: "After the earthquakes that shook Turkey, we had a bitter holiday as a country. Despite this bitterness, we have become more united as a nation. Holidays, which are the most beautiful symbols of love, friendship, brotherhood, compassion and unity, are a beautiful occasion that brings us together, where resentments are eliminated and love increases as it is shared. It is a great happiness for us to feast together with the great Atatürk University family."

The programme ended after Rector Çomaklı celebrated Eid with the members of the university, chatted with them and offered them food.
