A conference by the Atatürk University Scientific Journals Coordinator titled “Scientific Journal Publishing and International Indexing” was organized at the Faculty of Science Orhan Yavuz lecture hall.

Faculty Member of Bezmialem Vakıf University Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ceyhan Gören  attended the conference as a speaker and shared information about the issues such as the history of scientific journals, scientific journals publishing in Turkey, international indexes and their development, evaluation criteria of index and scientific publishing strategy.

More than 50 academicians consisting of Ataturk university journal editors, members of editorial board and the ones interested in attended to the conference. In the conference held in workshop format, journal editors shared their experiences with each other. In the meeting where the indexes such as Science Citation Index (SCI), Scopus, Chemical Abstracts, TR INDEX, their features and criteria are discussed in detail, extensive discussions were held on many issues such as editorial approaches, ethical rules, COPE (Committee of Publication Ethics) criteria, impact factor (magazine impact value), opening doors from national solidarity to international integration.
