GAZI MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK WAS COMMEMORATED WITH EVENTS ORGANISED AT ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY

Various activities were organised at Atatürk University to commemorate the 86th anniversary of the loss of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey.
The 10 November Atatürk Commemoration Programme, which commenced with the presentation of wreaths to the Atatürk Monument at the Huvuzbaşı, was witnessed by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector of Atatürk University. In the program, which was attended by state officials, a two-minute silence was observed at 9:5 a.m., followed by the sound of sirens. Subsequently, the flags were lowered to half-mast amid the national anthem.

Wreaths Are Presented to the Atatürk Youth and Science Monument

Simultaneously, a commemoration ceremony was conducted at the Atatürk Youth and Science Monument at Atatürk University. The ceremony was attended by vice rectors, deans of faculties, academic and administrative personnel, students, and citizens. The ceremony commenced with the presentation of a wreath to the monument by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Yılmaz and concluded with the singing of the National Anthem and a moment of silence.

Commemoration Program for November 10th Continued at the Cultural Centre

The 10 November Atatürk Commemoration Programme, which was organised by the Erzurum Provincial Directorate of National Education at the Atatürk University Cultural Centre 15 July National Will Hall, was attended by a significant number of guests following the ceremonies. In addition to Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi, Erzurum Metropolitan Mayor Mehmet Sekmen, 9th Corps and Garrison Commander Major General Tuncay Altuğ, Erzurum Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, and Provincial Director of National Education, The event was witnessed by Yakup Yıldız, Provincial Police Chief Kadir Yırtar, veterans, relatives of martyrs, NGO representatives, students, and parents.
The program included speeches that discussed the significance and significance of the day. The event concluded with the recitation of poems themed on Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the singing of traditional melodies, and the oratorio performance that the students of Hüseyin Avni Ulaş Anatolian High School had prepared.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Rector of Atatürk University, emphasised that Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is one of the greatest leaders in history, not only of the Turkish nation but also of all humanity. He stated, "Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic, the symbol of the Turkish nation's struggle for independence and a world-wide leader, is a hero who devoted his 57 years of life not only to his nation but also to all humanity, working with the effort to elevate his country above the level of modern civilisations." We are currently conducting scientific research and advancing in the fields of education and culture by safeguarding the fundamental principles of our Republic.

Atatürk University is named after the founder of our Republic. This name is not only the name of a university, but it also represents our responsibility, fortitude, and ideal. We remain resolute in our pursuit of surpassing the status of contemporary civilisations, as demonstrated by Atatürk. We do so in the context of science. Rector Hacımüftüoğlu stated, "Our university continues to fulfil its responsibility of educating qualified human resources, which are the guarantee of our future, with the power it takes from both its past and its name." I remember all our martyrs and veterans who sacrificed their lives for the independence of our nation, the indivisible integrity of our homeland, and the unity of our nation with mercy, and I commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk once again with respect, mercy, and gratitude on the 86th anniversary of his departure from us and with these feelings and thoughts.
The commemoration program concluded with a visit to the exhibition, which exhibited the students' paintings that were inspired by Atatürk.
