Rector Hacımüftüoğlu: "Postgraduate education plays a critical role."

In his assessment of the postgraduate education process, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu emphasised the university's research-oriented structure, stating, "Our university is one of the institutions with the largest research capacity in Turkey, with 183 master's and 195 doctoral programs." At present, there are 9,597 graduate students. A total of 565 of these students are international students. The global influence of Atatürk University in the scientific community is thus revealed. Our English programs, particularly those in our Institute of Science, are a significant draw for students from abroad.

Rector Hacımüftüoğlu underscored that Atatürk University's primary objective is to cultivate the nation's required scientists, and he asserted that graduate education plays a critical role in achieving this objective. According to him, graduate education is crucial not only for those who aspire to academic advancement, but also for the development of the specialised human resources required by public institutions and the private sector.

The interdisciplinary education approach, strong academic staff, and advanced research infrastructure of Atatürk University are enabling the institution to continue producing science. Additionally, the multicultural academic structure of the institution is making it a preferred destination for international students. The university, which attracts candidates who aspire to specialise in various disciplines through its innovative programs that integrate art and science, is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 autumn semester graduate program. This initiative opens the door to new scientific explorations.
