It is the objective of TÜBİTAK to establish National Technology Workshops in 81 provinces as part of the "National Technology Move" initiative. One of these workshops is scheduled to be situated at Atatürk University. This initiative, which will be executed in collaboration between TÜBİTAK and Atatürk University, will offer young individuals the chance to develop their aspirations and prepare for science and technology competitions.
The National Technology Move has reached Erzurum.
As a native of Erzurum, BİTO President Ömer Kökçam is acutely aware of the significance of Atatürk University in the region. He also discussed the National Technology Workshops initiative, which was initiated by TÜBİTAK in 81 provinces to assist young individuals in the development of technological projects. Kökçam underscored that these seminars will facilitate the training of qualified human resources for the local and national industry, in addition to fostering the development of young people in the field of national technology.
According to President Kökçam, "We will establish workshops in our universities and TÜBİTAK-supported science centers to offer our young people the opportunity to participate in national and international science and technology competitions." We hope to provide assistance to our young people in the development of national technologies and the enhancement of their entrepreneurial spirit. Additionally, we will provide support programs, including the "Workshop Installation Project" for the establishment of workshops in 200 square meter areas and the "Sustainability and Capacity Increase Project" for long-term projects.
Assistance will be rendered through university-industry partnerships.
Industrial collaborations will be facilitated in addition to scientific infrastructure within the National Technology Workshops. Kökçam announced that technical and vocational training processes will be implemented for the projects of young individuals enrolled in workshop studies. He also stated, "Our teams will receive machinery, equipment, and consumable support." We will establish opportunities for our teams to engage with experts during the competition processes and offer consultation for project applications. Training programs and promotional events will be implemented to facilitate the growth of our teams.
Kökçam also disclosed that the establishment of National Technology organizations for student organizations across Turkey will receive assistance. Kökçam stated that the support will enable technology clubs to conduct more effective work, as there are an average of 12,500 student societies in Turkey.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector of Atatürk University, expressed his satisfaction with the visit and underscored the university's commitment to the development of young people through initiatives and contact with science. Rector Hacımüftüoğlu expressed his enthusiasm for the establishment of this workshop within the university, stating, "We have a vast campus and a variety of facilities." We are exceedingly pleased that our university will erect this facility, which will facilitate the interaction between our youth and science. We are prepared to offer all the requisite assistance, both intellectually and physically, in our capacity as the Rectorate. I am of the opinion that this workshop will foster a sense of community among our children through scientific activities, thereby enabling them to develop into the future Aziz Sancar and Selçuk Bayraktar.
Rector Hacımüftüoğlu stated, "The implementation of this project in Erzurum, which is a contribution to our nation's national technology initiative, will enable our youth to develop into well-informed individuals who have completed scientific studies." In this context, I would like to express my gratitude to BİTO President Ömer Kökçam and the TÜBİTAK family for the invaluable opportunities they have offered.
The visit continued with a visit to the Biodiversity Science Museum.
