ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY HOSTED A DISCUSSION ON INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.

An important conference was held at Atatürk University, during which innovative technologies were the subject of discussion. The University's Cultural Centre Prof. Dr. Kemal Bıyıkoğlu Hall was the site of the conference on Innovative Approaches with Artificial Intelligence. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emin Argun Oral, a faculty member of the Faculty of Engineering, moderated the conference.

The most recent advancements in the field of artificial intelligence were the subject of discussion at the event, which was enhanced by the presentations of Lecturer Dr. Resul Tugay from Gazi University and Dr. Ahmet Karacalı from Kyushu Institute of Technology. Dr. Tugay delivered a presentation entitled "Engineering in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Projects from University and Industry" in which he underscored the significance and function of artificial intelligence in industrial and engineering applications. Dr. Karacalı delivered a presentation entitled "Material Intelligence: Reservoir Processing Applications of Nanomaterials." He elucidated the revolutionary potential of artificial intelligence to optimise nanomaterials in reservoir processing.

The conference also underscored the distinctions between Reservoir Informatics and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). It was emphasised that the connection weight functions of all layers are employed for product aggregation in ANN applications, resulting in a high energy consumption. In contrast, Reservoir Computing employs a hidden layer composed of non-linear, randomly connected neurones, and the training process is confined to the reading layer. Consequently, it was determined that Reservoir Computing results in a lower energy consumption than ANN.

The participants engaged in an interactive discussion regarding the future of artificial intelligence technologies following the presentations. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Yücel Özbek, the event's coordinator, expressed gratitude to Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Rector of Atatürk University, for his assistance. He stated that Atatürk University is committed to the dissemination of innovative approaches by offering a platform for the convergence of academic and industrial advancements through events of this nature.
