HELPING HAND FROM ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY TO EARTHQUAKE ZONE...

After the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş at 4:17 am on Monday, February 6, 2023 and caused significant destruction in Kilis, Diyarbakır, Adana, Osmaniye, Şanlıurfa, Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Malatya and Hatay, Atatürk  a crisis desk was set up under the chairmanship of Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı.

At the meeting held at the crisis desk, it was decided to send an aid team to the earthquake area. Atatürk University team assigned to Malatya by Erzurum Governorship set out with a convoy of 3 vehicles, which included materials to be used in health, clothing, food and search and rescue activities.

Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said goodbye with prayers to the team of 51, consisting of 10 doctors, 10 health personnel and 31 personnel from various units of the university.

Stating that the team from Atatürk University, which set out for Malatya to help earthquake victims in various matters, especially in the field of health and search and rescue efforts, went to the earthquake region for a sacred mission, Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said that Atatürk University will stand by the Turkish nation with all its means, as it was yesterday, in order to heal the wounds of the second biggest earthquake disaster of the last century.
