'HISTORICAL' SENATE FROM ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY…
OPENED ITS DOORS AGAIN FOR THE SENATE MEETING AFTER 62 YEARS

The inaugural senate session on the university campus took place in the 62-year-old hall, which served as the assembly place for the Senate and Board of Directors of Atatürk University.

The Senate and Board of Directors meeting was hosted by the Atatürk University Faculty of Agriculture, one of the nation's oldest faculties that continues to educate thousands of students. The meeting brought back fond memories of the inaugural gathering that took place in the same room many years ago.

According to Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, the meetings conducted in the Board Room of the Faculty of Agriculture, which had been vacant for a period but was repurposed following renovations that ensured the original was preserved, were highly productive for the attendees: We convened in the Board Room, which serves as the venue for numerous significant programs and meetings, to discuss matters of significance with our senate and board members. We are incredibly ecstatic and pleased. In this room, our esteemed predecessors deliberated on critical matters and initiated actions that will have a lasting impact on our university. "We are remembering the precious memories of our esteemed elders here today," according to him.

Rector Çomaklı asserted that a greater comprehension of the magnitude of Atatürk University's greatness can be achieved by acknowledging these and analogous subtleties. He further stated that they bear a heavy emotional burden and a sense of responsibility for having occupied a room that has endured for 62 years. Consequently, they have exercised greater discernment in the decisions entrusted to them with this mission. Furthermore, he expressed gratitude to the entire faculty family in the presence of Prof. Dr. Önder Çalmaşur.

Senate Reflection on the Initial Implementation Results of the New Governance Model

Rector Çomaklı asserted that this meeting took place in a hall of historical significance, which is an additional noteworthy aspect. For the first time, the eleven coordination boards' suggestions regarding the new governance model were put to a vote in this hall today. Furthermore, the policies will be formulated in accordance with the principles of transparency and participation.

The Senate and Board of Directors Meeting concluded with the agenda items being evaluated, discussed, and voted on.
