MEANINGFUL VISIT TO ATATURK UNIVERSITY BY LITTLE CHILDREN
Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, the Rector of Atatürk University, received students and instructors from Eskipolat Primary School in the Aziziye district of Erzurum.
Eyüp Efe Orhan, a student in class 1/A at Eskipolat Primary School, contacted Atatürk University by writing holiday greeting cards to numerous institutions in Erzurum. He sent the card to Rector Çomaklı. Eyüp Efe Orhan, who introduced himself and announced that he had recently begun reading and writing, expressed his desire to compose his first card to a state institution. He also congratulated Rector Çomaklı on his holiday.
Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, who was not indifferent to the thoughtful conduct of the students of Eskipolat Primary School, extended an invitation to the students to attend Atatürk University and engaged in a conversation with both teachers and students. Prof. Dr. Çomaklı demonstrated a high level of engagement by engaging in a conversation with the students while welcoming his visitors in the Rectorate Senate Hall.
At the conclusion of the visit to Atatürk University, Rector Çomaklı presented a variety of gifts to the 33 students, including pre-school teacher Elif Nur Sular, 1st and 2nd grade teachers Zeynep Ertuğay and Neriman Yiğit, 3rd and 4th grade teachers Hatice Kurt and Nilay Kesimci, and the chairman of the visit, Eskipolat Primary School Deputy Principal Ümran Özdemir Taşkıran.

Rector Çomaklı expressed his excitement that the students were writing holiday greeting cards and visiting Atatürk University. He also mentioned that the scientists of the future are currently seated in the same seats as the academicians in the Senate Hall, and that the generations that will construct the future are a source of hope.
Çomaklı underscored the significance of such meetings, stating that the young visitors had the chance to familiarise themselves with the university and observe scientific research in action. He further stated, "Our children, who are the foundation of our future, will be the leaders of tomorrow, the scientists and individuals who will influence society." The hope we feel is reflected in the inquiry and radiance of their eyes. It is crucial to conduct such visits in order to establish a future that is replete with education. At an early age, it is our most important responsibility to introduce our children to our university, foster a passion of education, and instill scientific thinking in them. Our aspiration and conviction is that these diminutive souls will illuminate a promising future.
Çomaklı was particularly interested in the children, elucidated the significance of their education, and addressed a variety of inquiries, citing that the young visitors had the chance to familiarise themselves with the university and observe scientific research in action. Following their visit to the Rectorate, the students enjoyed lunch at the guesthouse, visited the Ata Ice Museum and the Biodiversity Science Museum, and experienced both educational and enjoyable experiences.
