FOUR ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY PROGRAMS WERE ASSESSED BY MÜDEK.

Many faculties and programs within the structure of Atatürk University, which places a premium on internationalization and quality of education, have had their accreditation procedures concluded successfully in recent years. Furthermore, the university continues to augment these units with new establishments.

Engineering Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation officials visited Atatürk University from November 26-28, 2023, in order to accredit programs offered by the Faculty of Agriculture within the Faculty of Engineering, namely Civil Engineering, (Formal Education) Chemical Engineering, (Formal Education) Mechanical Engineering (Formal Education), and Food Engineering. Following an examination of the Engineering and Agriculture Faculties by representatives of the MÜDEK Association, they convened a meeting with rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı.

Following the dissemination of information regarding the faculties, departments, and programs by the Faculty Deans, the MÜDEK Evaluation Teams convene discussions with program managers, pertinent faculty administration, quality commissions, boards, and commissions to ascertain the laboratories, classrooms, libraries, study areas, and other communal spaces associated with the faculties and departments. toured local institutions.

In addition, the MÜDEK Evaluation Team conducted interviews with stakeholders, students, faculty members, research assistants, and graduates of the programs vying for accreditation. A determination regarding the accreditation of these programs is anticipated to be rendered within the forthcoming months.

During his address to attendees in the Rectorate Senate Hall, Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı emphasized that our university, being a prominent engineering education institution in the region, remains committed to prioritizing innovation and knowledge advancement across all academic disciplines. He further stated that accreditation is a direct consequence of our university's commitment to providing high-quality education and pursuing ongoing improvement.

"Our university administration's highest priority is to provide our students with a well-rounded education and to offer academic programs of the highest caliber," said Prof. Dr. Çomaklı. Most significantly, the expansion of accredited programs serves as evidence that substantial progress is being made in the direction of this objective. With these remarks; "I would like to thank the MÜDEK team, our deans, program managers, academics, students and stakeholders for their meticulous evaluations."

What is MÜDEK?

MÜDEK, the Engineering Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association, is an autonomous organization whose mission is to enhance the caliber of engineering education across multiple disciplines through accreditation, evaluation, and information studies pertaining to engineering education programs.

The Higher Education Quality Board designates it as a national quality assurance organization responsible for accrediting engineering programs.

Since November 17, 2006, it has been a complete member of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE). It is granted authorization to issue the EUR-ACE Label by ENAEE. Since June 15, 2011, it has been a member (member-signatory) of the Washington Accord (WA).
