ATATÜRK AND ANKARA UNIVERSITIES FORM A TEAM TO ADVANCE SCIENCE... THE WORLD OF SCIENCE AND EDUCATION WILL BE EXPANDED BY THE COLLABORATION OF TWO WELL-ESTABLISHED UNIVERSITIES!

Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar, the Rector of Ankara University, and his delegation conducted an on-site evaluation of the academic and scientific research conducted at Atatürk University. The delegation conferred with Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector of Atatürk University, during the visit. They exchanged ideas regarding potential areas of collaboration between the two deeply rooted universities.

Ankara University Vice Rector and Dean of Research Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan, Forensic Sciences Institute head Prof. Dr. Nebile Dağlıoğlu, Technology Transfer Office Coordinator Assistant Prof. Dr. Sevgi Ernas, and Rector's Advisor Lecturer Ümmet Artuç participated in the visit, which was conducted with the objective of enhancing academic collaborations between universities, contributing to the country's higher education, and establishing joint projects. During the visit, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çavuşoğlu and Rector's Advisor and Scientific Research Projects (BAP) Coordinator Prof. Dr. Erol Akpınar from Atatürk University were also in attendance.

"The Merger of Two Prominent Universities Will Be Beneficial to Our Nation"

The meeting at the Rectorate of Atatürk University featured discussions regarding the enhancement of academic collaboration among universities, the establishment of collaborative research initiatives, and innovative approaches to higher education. According to Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the most critical aspect of scientific advancements is the establishment of robust partnerships. He stated, "The impact of both universities in the national and international arena will be enhanced by strengthening our scientific and academic ties with a well-established institution like Ankara University." The scientific advancement of our nation will be expedited by the convergence of our universities, which are leaders in the disciplines of health and technology.

Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar, the Rector of Ankara University, conveyed that Atatürk University holds a special place in his heart and that they are eager to capitalize on the university's scientific infrastructure and academic expertise. Ünüvar stated that they are interested in leveraging Atatürk University's expertise to ensure the effective operation of the Ankara University Integrated Research Center (BÜTAM), which has recently commenced operations. They also expressed their desire to conduct collaborative research with all pertinent units, with a particular emphasis on the Eastern Anatolian High Technology Application and Research Center (DAYTAM).

DAYTAM: International Standards for Research and Analysis

During the visit, the delegation assessed the Eastern Anatolian High Technology Application and Research Center (DAYTAM) and was informed of the scientific and technological services it provides. According to Rector Hacımüftüoğlu, the sophisticated laboratory infrastructure at DAYTAM is a valuable asset not only for academic research but also for the private sector and industry. Hacımüftüoğlu provided a comprehensive overview of the analysis services provided by the center in the areas of food, chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical research, and advanced material technologies, stating that DAYTAM, which has an OECD Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) declaration of conformity, occupies a prestigious position on both a national and international scale.

Strategic Support Mechanism for Academicians: Project Development and Coordination Office

The delegation reviewed the work of Atatürk University on the project culture and the efficient utilization of academic funding resources during their visit to the Project Development and Coordination Office. According to Rector Hacımüftüoğlu, Atatürk University has implemented a system that promotes the utilization of national and international funds by academicians. He also underscored that the institution offers scientific and technical assistance to academicians during the project preparation process and is committed to enhancing the efficacy of scientific projects through collaboration with international organizations.

Big Data Management Office: Spearheading the University's Digital Transformation

The delegation also visited the Atatürk University Big Data Management Office. The Atatürk University Big Data Management Office is dedicated to enhancing the quality of institutional processes, enhancing the university's international rankings, and fortifying data-based decision-making mechanisms in academic and administrative processes. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector, underscored the strategic contributions that big data technologies make to the university's digital transformation and asserted that academic research is guided by initiatives in this field. Atatürk University's science and technology-focused vision is further fortified by the office's objective to convert the university's extensive data collection into valuable information, create projects that align with sustainable development objectives, and enhance international competitiveness.

Coordination Unit for Scientific Research Projects: Enhancing Academic Potential

Lastly, the delegation that visited the Scientific Research Projects (BAP) Coordination Unit was provided with comprehensive information regarding topics such as the enhancement of the university's R&D potential, the development of international joint projects, the reinforcement of the entrepreneurship ecosystem, and the support of scientific research. The Atatürk University Scientific Research Projects (BAP) Coordination Unit significantly enhances the academic potential of the university by enhancing its research and development capabilities. Issues such as the effective management of research funds, the support of academics' scientific studies, and participation in international initiatives were addressed during the delegation's visit. The BAP Coordination Unit is dedicated to the following objectives: increasing the number of high-value-added researchers, fostering national and international collaborations, supporting the scientific careers of academics, and providing economic contributions through the development of joint initiatives with industry.

The Scientific Solidarity of Turkey's Two Leading Universities is Fortified

The visit between Atatürk University and Ankara University, which was conducted to fortify academic collaboration, demonstrated the dedication of the two long-standing universities to collaborate on scientific production. The delegation visited the research centers, laboratories, and academic divisions of Atatürk University during the visit and was provided with comprehensive information regarding ongoing projects. Topics such as support for research and development activities, implementation of joint initiatives, student and academic exchange programs, and inter-university scientific cooperation were debated.

At the conclusion of the visit, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector of Atatürk University, declared that the collaborative research to be conducted with Ankara University will significantly enhance the nation's scientific production and higher education. Hacımüftüoğlu emphasized that the two universities will leverage their knowledge and experience to develop more robust academic projects, and that this partnership will yield significant outcomes on both a national and international scale.

Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar, the Rector of Ankara University, declared that the academic solidarity between the two institutions will continue to strengthen and that the collaborative projects to be conducted with Atatürk University will provide valuable gains to the scientific world. Ünüvar, who emphasized that the establishment of sustainable collaborations in the fields of education and research will contribute to the scientific development of the country, stated that efforts will continue to implement more comprehensive projects in the future.
