Coming to Erzurum to make a series of contacts, Meftun Abbasov, President of the Shusha State Historical and Architectural Conservation Area of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Nuri Guliyev, Consul General of Azerbaijan Kars, and Deputy Consul General of Azerbaijan to Kars Burhan Novruzlu visited the rector of Atatürk University. Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı.

Mentioning that Atatürk University is a very popular and beloved educational institution in Azerbaijan, the guests stated that they were also aware of the unfortunate accident at the University and that this incident saddened them greatly. They stated that Atatürk University's contribution to the universities in Azerbaijan with its knowledge, equipment and experience is very valuable, inviting Çomaklı to the Azerbaijan Independence Day celebrations to be held on October 18th.

Rector Çomaklı thanked his guests for their visit and wishes of getting well soon, emphasizing that they have always been in close relations with the old friend and brother country Azerbaijan. "The relations between the two states will increase further with various cooperation and agreements.  We opened an office in the hospital so that the patients who came to the Research Hospital from Azerbaijan would not experience victimization. Thanks to this office, the procedures were handled more easily, and we were waiting for all Azerbaijani citizens to Erzurum." he said.
