STUDENTS IN THE COMPUTER ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT ACHIEVED SIGNIFICANT SUCCESS ON THE ROAD TO TEKNOFEST 2024
In 2024, the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) Scientist Support Department (BİDEB) organized the University Students Research Project Competitions code 2242 for the 12th time. This year, students from the Computer Engineering Department at Atatürk University once again distinguished themselves.
Jury members who are experts in their respective disciplines evaluated project applications submitted in 2024 to the competition organized within the framework of TEKNOFEST, the world's largest Aviation, Space, and Technology Festival. The final competition was open to a total of 90 projects across nine disciplines, as determined by the preliminary evaluation.
Projects Prepared Eligible to Compete in the Final Competitions
3 of the 4 projects that the Computer Engineering Department's undergraduate students prepared as graduation projects under the supervision of Computer Engineering Department Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Deniz Dal became a source of pride by being included in the 90 projects in question.
Ali Mohammadalizadeh's project, "User-Centered Smart Strategy and Risk Management System for Cryptocurrency Trading," was one of the ten projects selected for the final competition in the Information and Communication Technologies category. Yusuf Yardımcı and Cengiz Güngör's project, "Artificial Intelligence Supported Smart Swimming Bracelet that Can Detect the Danger of Drowning," was another project that was entered. Fatma Çelik and Almira Yaren Karadeniz's project, A New Generation System That Can Detect Lameness in Sheep Using the Pressure Mapping Method, was one of the 10 projects invited to the final competition in the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship category. They were also one of the 10 projects invited to the final competition in the Food and Agriculture category.
The first, second, and third-placed projects within the TEKNOFEST 2024 event will receive awards as a consequence of the Final Competition Evaluations of the University Students Research Project Competitions, which will be conducted online on July 11.
Assoc. Prof. Deniz Dal, the project consultant, emphasized his confidence in his students' ability to acquire new degrees this year in addition to the scores they achieved in the regional and final competitions of the same project in previous years after evaluating the subject. Dal expressed her gratitude to Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, Engineering Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Recep Sadeler, and Computer Engineering Department Head Member Assist. Prof. Ahmet Coşkunçay for their assistance, stating that the accomplishments are a source of pride for the department, faculty, and the university.
