Atatürk University marked the final of the 2242 University Students Research Project Competitions, which was held for the 10th time this year by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) Scientist Support Department (BİDEB). The students of the Computer Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering who participated in the competition achieved important success and became the first in Turkey and the third in Turkey.

 Previously, under the consultancy of Atatürk University Computer Engineering Department faculty member Dr. Deniz Dal, Four of the five projects, which were prepared as undergraduate graduation projects, succeeded in being among the 120 projects invited to the final exhibition in this competition. Final exhibition of the competition and project evaluations; The world's largest Aviation, Space and Technology Festival was held in Giresun between 22-24 July 2022 as part of TEKNOFEST events, and 228 students from 120 projects from 9 main fields participated in the final exhibition. As a result of the jury evaluations, 36 projects that received first, second, third and incentive awards in each field were determined.

According to the final results, Ebru Aslan and Şeymanur Başgöze ranked first in Turkey with the RFID Based, Interactive and Educational Game Ecosystem Project in the main field of education, while İbrahim Hakkı Rizelioğlu and Mine Nur Kasımoğulları took the 3rd place in Turkey with the Artificial Intelligence Supported Virtual Archery Trainer Project in the main field of Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Successful Education of the Computer Engineering Department is Awarded

Commenting on the subject, Dr. Instructor Member Deniz Dal stated that he is proud of the continuous success that his students have shown in this competition since 2019. Dr. Instructor Dal, won two first places, a third place in the regional competition in 2019, and a second place in the Turkey final; Three first places in the regional competition in 2020, one first place and one third place in the Turkey final; He emphasized that the invitation of three of the five project applications to the final exhibition in 2021 and the first and third place in Turkey in 2022, confirmed the quality of education given in the Department of Computer Engineering at Atatürk University.

Stating that the successes achieved are a source of pride for the university, Deniz Dal said that Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Recep Sadeler and the entire Faculty of Engineering family for their support.

The award ceremony of the event will be held within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2022, which will be held in Samsun on August 30-September 4, 2022 with the participation of award-winning project owners.
