SCIENTIFIC ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD CEREMONY WAS HELD BY VIDEO CONFERENCE METHOD
The Scientific Encouragement Award Ceremony, which has been traditionally organized by Ataturk University since 2010, was held this year by video conferencing due to the pandemic.
The ceremony was attended by Atatürk University Rector. Prof.Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, Vice Rectors, Secretary General and academics worthy of the award participated.
In the fields of Educational Sciences, Basic Sciences, Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering-Architecture, Health Sciences and Agricultural-Aquaculture Scientific Encouragement Awards, the first Scientific Encouragement Award Ceremony, in which 21 academics were awarded, the firsts were 5 thousand, the second one was 3 thousand, and the third one While it was awarded with 2 thousand TL, 27 academics whose projects were accepted in 2019 within the scope of TÜBİTAK projects were awarded with various amounts of money.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, addressing academics with video conferencing stated that the New Generation University Project, which was initiated in the recent years as a reference to the important developments experienced within the scope of the New HEC system, which is described as the silent revolution, plays an active role in all processes involving education, research and community service at Atatürk University. Rector Çomaklı said that the rapid developments in technology and changing and diversifying needs directly affect higher education.
Rector Çomaklı, who stated that an extraordinary period was experienced in a universal dimension, emphasized that Atatürk University was trying to manage this process without disrupting it, especially with the measures taken and the distance education programs it implemented.
“We Should Transform Horizontal-Quantitative Growth into Vertical-Qualitative Growth”
Rector Çomaklı: “By taking the developments in the new YÖK System as reference; We try to put forward a new vision with a new understanding prioritizing quality and functional information production in all processes involving education, research and society service at our university. Both the rapid developments in technology and the horizontal growth of our university directly affect the higher education we offer. We are working to bring horizontal-quantitative growth to vertical-qualitative growth, to prepare strategies in line with the needs of the region we are in, and to produce more concrete and effective outputs to the society. ”
Rector Çomaklı, who stated that Atatürk University is a big family, celebrating the 63rd anniversary of its establishment this year: “In this ceremony, which is an indication of supporting the knowledge production and research human resources of our university, increasing the production of qualified information, and encouraging the production of scientific information, the award is supported by an award. I congratulate the valuable academic staff of our university, which was deemed worthy of an award from TUBITAK and other institutions, and I wish them continued success ”.
