Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen met with Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr.  Ömer Çomaklı.

Rector Çomaklı, who stated that he was pleased to host the mayor Sekmen at the university, emphasized the importance of strong links with public institutions and organizations in terms of university-city cooperation.

Noting that they are making efforts to integrate scientific studies into daily life for the development of the city and the region, Çomaklı underlined that they act in accordance with the approach of working together with the city stakeholders, which is included in the vision of the New Higher Education Council.

Rector Çomaklı said: "We have had important collaborations, especially with Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, on agriculture and animal husbandry, which is the main source of livelihood of the region. We will provide the best service to the people of Erzurum by continuing our cooperation in this field,"

Stating that they have accelerated the municipal works in the new normalization period, Mayor Sekmen stated that they are always in contact with the other institutions of the city.

Reminding that they will be in cooperation with an institution such as Atatürk University, which has high knowledge and trained human resources, Sekmen thanked Rector Çomaklı for his hospitality.
