SIGNATURES SIGNED FOR CAN ERZURUM PROJECT: STRONG SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION FROM ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY
The "Can Erzurum Project," which is designed to enhance educational equity by encompassing primary, secondary, and high school pupils in 20 districts of Erzurum, was signed at the historic Erzurum Congress Building.
The ceremony, which was presided over by Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi, was attended by Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Zafer Aynalı, Erzurum Provincial Director of National Education Yakup Yıldız, and Yeşilay Erzurum Branch President Emirhan Talay.
Education Collaboration
The signing ceremony was recognised as a significant development that bolstered collaboration in the field of education. The message of "We Are Here for Our Children" is conveyed by the project, which is being jointly executed by the Erzurum Governorate, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, Atatürk University, Provincial Directorate of National Education, and Yeşilay Erzurum Branch.

The Can Erzurum Project will make substantial contributions to the education and social life of Erzurum, as emphasised by Atatürk University President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu during his speech at the ceremony. Hacımüftüoğlu stated, "Education is not restricted to mere lessons." It is our responsibility to facilitate the social development of our children while simultaneously enhancing their academic success. In this regard, Atatürk University is prepared to offer the initiative any form of assistance.
What is the objective of the Can Erzurum Project?
In 20 districts of Erzurum, 20 primary schools, 20 middle schools, and 20 high schools will host a variety of events within the project's scope. The objective is to enhance educational equity by fostering collaboration among students, educators, and families in rural institutions. Furthermore, students from rural regions will be transported to the city centre to engage in educational and cultural excursions. Over time, the initiative is intended to be expanded to encompass 1200 village institutions.
The events that will be conducted include life skills training, recycling workshops, addiction control and awareness training, communication skills and intelligence activities, Yeşilay awareness studies, historical heritage excursions, and cultural events.
Project Scope to be Expanded in the Future
The Can Erzurum Project, which is scheduled to be implemented on February 3, 2025, will be expanded in the years ahead. The initiative, which will be implemented with the active involvement of families, instructors, school administrators, students, and volunteers, is designed to make enduring contributions to the social and educational landscape of Erzurum.
Institutional Assistance
Tarz Mobilya, Tema Marketçilik, Macera Offroad, Kar Spor, ASEL Academy and Consultancy Centre, and Kuffeli are among the institutions that provided support to the Can Erzurum Project during its inaugural year. These institutions expressed their commitment to the initiative by asserting, "We are here for our children."
