Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı and his team met with the Chairman and management of the TMMOB Chamber of Mechanical Engineers Trabzon Branch.
On behalf of Atatürk University, Rector Çomaklı, vice-rectors, university secretary and advisor to the rector attended the meeting while Chairman of the Board Fulya Bankoğlu, Branch Secretary Önder Durmuş, Branch Treasurer Ufuk Bulut, Board Members Res. Assist. Furkan Emre Kan and Res. Assist. Yaşar Sert and Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, one of the former managers, attended the meeting on behalf of MMO Trabzon Branch.
Rector Çomaklı started his speech by congratulating Fulya Bankoğlu, who recently won the chamber presidency, and her management and said that they came together to contribute to the culture of consultation and exchanged views for joint projects.
Rector Çomaklı emphasized that universities in that city should be qualified and innovative in order for the cities to develop and be livable and stated that they were aiming for a new generation university that not only conveys the current information to its students, but also produces new information, converts them into products through industry sharing, entrepreneurs and shareholders, produces and directs technology rather than following technology.
Stating that they were following the city and academic studies of MMO and they would be happy to work together and produce projects for young engineer candidates, Prof. Dr. Çomaklı thanked the MMO Trabzon Branch for their visit and expressed their satisfaction for coming together.
Bankoğlu: “We Work Like an Educational Institution”Providing information about the work of the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers, MMO Trabzon Chairman Fulya Bankoğlu stated that they served not only Trabzon but also many provinces in the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia Region. Stating that Trabzon and the surrounding provinces connected to the branch were working to make it a livable city and reaching this goal by cooperating, Bankoğlu emphasized that they were trying to bring the region to the top level of the country in terms of industry and economy and that the goal of bringing to the top level should be valid for universities.
Stating that MMO is also an educational institution, Bankoğlu said that they supported students to update their knowledge by making important contributions to their professional development through training, seminars, internships, technical trips and courses frequently organized by the chamber. Emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the chamber and the university, President Bankoğlu stated that they were trying to meet with young colleagues and develop relations with the university, and thanked Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı and his team for his close interest and support.
