IT WAS DETERMINED THAT ASSOCIATE DR. KILIÇ MERITED THE TÜBA-GEBİP AWARD.
The recipients of the Outstanding Young Scientist Awards (GEBİP) presented by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) for the current year have been declared. Associate Professor, member of the Department of Chemistry at Atatürk University's Faculty of Science. Assoc. Prof. Haydar Kılıç was considered deserving of the TÜBA-GEBİP award in the domain of natural sciences organic chemistry.
The names of the recipients of the TÜBA-GESEP (Scientific Copyrighted Work) and TÜBA-GEBĞP (Outstanding Young Scientist) awards for this year have been disclosed. The ceremony was conducted under the auspices of the Presidency. A traditional ceremony will be conducted at the Presidential Complex to present the honors to the deserving recipients, presided over by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The TÜBA-GEBİP Award holds significant value for Turkey's diplomatic ties with the international scientific community, supports the education of exceptional young scientists, and ensures their ability to continue their research in Turkey. The award will be presented in 2023, and it has been won by 34 such scientists from 24 universities, bringing the total number of recipients to 644.

In a statement regarding the awards, TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker stated that, on the occasion of the Republic's centennial, they continue their work with meticulous attention to detail, drawing upon centuries of experience. President Şeker noted that the Academy's primary responsibilities include promoting scholarship, endorsing young scientists, and facilitating the dissemination of scientific approach and thought. In this regard, the TÜBA GEBİP and TESEP Award programs have been implemented for an extended period of time. President Şeker stated. We are being filled with jubilation as we commemorate the centennial of our nation this year. The application outcomes for GEBİP and TESEP, which have undergone extensive evaluation by scientific committees over an extended period, instilled in us a sense of pride and optimism for the future, as they do annually. Permit me to conclude by extending our sincere condolences to the deserving academicians and writers who have been honored with awards and reassuring them of our unwavering support in their forthcoming endeavors. I would like to express my gratitude to our President for his protection," said the president.
Rector Çomaklı stated, "Award victories are held in the highest regard."
Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı noted that, as part of the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project, scientists place significant value on award accomplishments in accordance with the principle of demonstrating their qualified scientific studies and acknowledging their success, all while increasing the visibility of Atatürk University, aligning with the internationalization mission, and contributing to the advancement of national technology. "With regard to this matter, I congratulate Haydar Kılıç for this important award he has received and wish him continued success," he finished his remarks.
Concerning the TÜBA-GEBİP Awards...
The TÜBA-GEBİP Awards have been presented since 2001 with the purpose of recognizing and incentivizing exceptional young scientists in the social sciences, health sciences, engineering, and nature to continue their scientific education in Turkey, establish their own research groups, and publish projects that are internationally recognized and originate from Turkey. In the context of this exceptional and in-demand program, recipients are granted yearly financial assistance of 50,000 lira for a period of three years. Furthermore, doctoral students in the thesis phase receive an additional yearly support of 15,000 lira, and academy members offer consulting services.
