SIGNED SIGNATURES FOR "PALAN EKSTREM": THE BEGINNING OF ADVENTURE IN THE HEART OF NATURE
The "Rotamız Macera Palan Ekstrem" project, which was initiated to showcase the distinctive natural potential of Erzurum through athletics and to unite university students in an adventurous environment, was the subject of a cooperation protocol. The ceremony, which was presided over by Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi, was attended by the Rector of Atatürk University, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector of Bayburt University and the President of the Turkey University Sports Federation, Prof. Dr. Mutlu Türkmen, the representatives of the Adventure Off-Road Search and Rescue and Nature Sports Club, and the municipalities of Narman, Oltu, Şenkaya, Tortum, Uzundere, and İspir.
The Governorship will oversee the initiative, which is designed to emphasize Erzurum's appeal in the context of both winter and summer tourism, as well as nature sports. Participants from Turkey and around the globe will engage in intense competitions in a variety of extreme sports, including rock climbing, canoeing, and cycling, during the events scheduled to take place from June 28 to July 10. The event will commence at the Narman district, a natural marvel.
In his address at the signing ceremony, Governor Mustafa Çiftçi stated, "Our primary objective is to promote nature sports and foster a connection between our young athletes and the natural beauty of Erzurum, as well as to increase the visibility of our city on a national and international scale." Applications from both domestic and international sources have already commenced. Furthermore, we anticipate that these figures will rise even further. This initiative is crucial in demonstrating the potential of Erzurum in the realm of summer sports and nature. I would like to express my gratitude to all of the stakeholder institutions that made contributions to the initiative.
Rector Hacımüftüoğlu: "We will persist in our support of initiatives that enhance the value of Erzurum's brand."
At the signing ceremony, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu underscored the university's commitment to integration with society in all facets, stating, "We prioritize the social, cultural, and physical growth of our students, in addition to their academic success." This initiative will enable our youth to connect with nature and explore their personal limits, endurance, and team spirit. It is also a significant indicator of the contribution our university makes to local development. We will persist in our support of such initiatives to expand the visibility of Erzurum's natural assets through sports and to enhance the province's brand value.
The "Route is Adventure Palan Ekstrem" initiative is designed to introduce Erzurum's potential in nature sports and summer tourism to a broader audience. The event is noteworthy as a potential candidate to become one of Turkey's largest nature and extreme sports organizations that is expanding into Europe.
