Dr. Zafer Eroğlu, who was awarded the second prize in the Basic Sciences category at the TÜBA-TEKNOFEST Doctoral Science Awards, visited Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu and expressed his enthusiasm to Rector Hacımüftüoğlu.

At the 2024 TÜBA-TEKNOFEST Doctoral Science Awards, Dr. Zafer Eroğlu, a student at the Department of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering at Atatürk University, accomplished a noteworthy accomplishment by winning the second prize in the Basic Sciences category. Dr. Eroğlu distinguished himself from a total of 670 doctoral theses by successfully concluding his doctoral thesis, "Synthesis of Metal-Free Quantum Dots and Design of Heterojunction Structures with Two-Dimensional Materials for Photocatalysis Applications."

Dr. Eroğlu's doctoral research was focused on the development of photocatalysis applications, which are crucial in the pursuit of sustainable and environmentally benign energy solutions. He provided a novel viewpoint in this field by synthesizing metal-free quantum dots and addressing the design of two-dimensional materials and heterojunction structures in his thesis. The potential of these innovative studies to make a meaningful contribution to both the scientific and business communities is noteworthy.
