“The Surest Way to Be  Happy Is to Make Someone Else Happy”

Making the opening speech of the program, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Yücel Kadıoğlu pointed out that the profession of pharmacy is one of the most important professions in the field of health that serves and is beneficial to the society. He also added: “As long as you are a competent and ethical pharmacist, you will be one of the beloved and prominent individuals of the society. As long as you work hard and give your profession its due, you will not regret choosing this profession. On the contrary, you will be happy because the surest way to be happy is to make someone else happy. I am sure that you will fulfil all your duties in order to be a member of this profession. While studying, students should aim to learn their profession in the best way in all aspects, not to pass the class. On the other hand, I would like to state that it is very important for you to carry out multi-faceted activities for intellectual accumulation.”

Prof. Dr. Kadıoğlu: “As  the Faculty, We Closely Follow the Developments in the World”

Stating that the profession of pharmacy is in a never-ending process of development, Prof. Dr. Kadıoğlu made the following remarks: “In order to fulfil our responsibility, we closely follow the developments in the field of pharmacy, and we are constantly working harder to provide you with a better environment of education. Of course, we need financial and moral support in this work. From the day we took office, our University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı and his senior administration have always supported us both financially and morally, and have always been by our side, encouraging us. I would like to thank Rector Çomaklı and his senior administration for their support, including all the institutions and organizations with which we cooperate. In the light of these thoughts, I wish our students success on the road they have just started, without any stains or obstacles as in their white coats.”

President Güven: “Pharmacists are People's Closest Friends”

President of the 13th Region Chamber of Pharmacists Abdullah Caner Güven went up to the rostrum, saying that it is an indescribable source of happiness to be at Atatürk University, of which he is proud and honoured to be a graduate, and to feel of the excitement of the pharmacist candidates. Güven noted that the students wearing their white coats will perform a sacred profession after graduation, making the following remarks: “Pharmacists are not only professionals working within four walls, but also people's closest health advisees. Sometimes they are people’s confidant and sometimes close friends for them. That’s because we perform a profession that touches people. It is the pandemic process that showed clearly that we are an integral part of society. The first person losing his life in the Covid-19 process in our country was a pharmacist. However sorrowful it is, it is an important indicator that proves how close and immediate relations pharmacists have with people. I’d like to take this occasion to welcome you to the profession. I am glad that you have chosen to be a pharmacist and set your heart on this profession. I wish you all the best of luck in your future lives.”

Prof. Dr. Sözbilir: "I Wish A  Professional Life That Appreciates Life"

Underlining that he sees the white coat as an important symbol in terms of devotion to the profession, Atatürk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sözbilir said: "I sincerely believe that you will wear the white coat in a way worthy of the name as you wear it today and that you will serve your country in white coats." Sözbilir also noted that Atatürk University has turned into a more student-oriented institution, which blends education, research and social contribution activities with the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project. “Health care is a whole with its physicians, nurses, technicians and laboratory assistants. Pharmacists, as a very important member of this whole, render great services to humanity. It should be remembered that honesty is one of the sine qua non of every profession. There is no honourable duty in this life other than to serve the lives, whether it be a living thing or a human being, without any discrimination. With the awareness, as individuals who set your hearts on this work knowing the value of life, I wish you all  successful professional lives in the service of humanity after an efficient and quality education process” added Sözbilir.

Aynalı: “The  Presence of Our Youth Makes Us Hopeful”

Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Zafer Aynalı stated that he was very happy to participate in the Coat-Wearing Ceremony and share the happiness and excitement of the students, emphasizing that Atatürk University is a brand university and that the students who have graduated from it are always sure to feel this power behind them in their career journeys. “One of the strategic areas of our country, perhaps the most important one, is the pharmaceutical industry. Especially in this pandemic period, it has been seen how important it is to be domestic in medication and injection. Our biggest expectation is to develop molecules and conduct research in the areas that Turkey needs. In fact, it is our biggest expectation from the young. Seeing such a large group of young people here today really gives us hope and encouragement. I hope you will not lose this enthusiasm and continue your scientific studies because you are the future of this country. With these thoughts, I sincerely believe that the students who step into the pharmacy profession here today will remain true to their oaths in their professional life, regardless of race, language, religion or gender, and I wish you all success in your education.” Aynalı told.

The program continued with a music concert and ended when the first year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy put on their white coats.
