ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY ALSO TOOK ITS PLACE IN ERZURUM PROMOTION DAYS
Ankara-Erzurum Promotion Days, organized for the 10th time this year by Erzurum Economic Social Research and Assistance Foundation (ESAV), started with a wide participation at Altınpark Expo Center Fairground between 21-24 November 2024.
Atatürk University also participated in the event, where Erzurum's cultural and social richness was introduced in the capital Ankara, with various stands. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Rector of Atatürk University, also took part in the opening ceremony.
Minister of National Education Prof. Dr. Yusuf Tekin, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, Former Minister of Internal Affairs and Erzurum Deputy Selami Altınok, M. Emin Öz and Abdurrahim Fırat, Deputy Minister of Family and Social Services Zafer Tarıkdaroğlu, Erzurum Deputy Governor Mustafa Berk Çelik, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen, ESAV President Veysel Karani Aksungur, many administrative and bureaucratic officials, managers of public institutions, representatives of non-governmental organisations and citizens from Erzurum showed great interest in the event. After the opening programme, the guests visited the stands exhibiting the local and cultural values of Erzurum.
Atatürk University took its place in Ankara-Erzurum Promotion Days with Atastore, where university-specific corporate products are located, Carpet Rug and Handicrafts Application and Research Centre where traditional handmade carpets are exhibited, Open and Distance Education Faculty, Food and Livestock Centre and Corporate Communication Directorate units. While the visitors were informed about the activities of the university, items introducing the cultural texture of Erzurum were also exhibited.
Rector Hacımüftüoğlu: ‘It is an important task to promote Erzurum and our University in the national arena’
Making an assessment after the opening ceremony, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu emphasised the importance of promoting Erzurum's ancient culture and values at the national level and said: ‘Erzurum is a city that attracts the attention of not only our country but also the world with its historical texture and cultural richness. Such events organised in Ankara are very valuable in terms of increasing the awareness of Erzurum and therefore Atatürk University. As a university, it is an important task for us to promote the values of our people in the national arena, as well as to share projects that will contribute to the development of the city.’
Rector Hacımüftüoğlu stated that they will continue to support the social and economic development of Erzurum and that different units of the university will host visitors during the promotion days. ‘This year, as Atatürk University, we are here both to introduce our culture and to share the innovations in our university by hosting our guests,’ said Rector Hacımüftüoğlu, thanking everyone who participated in the promotion days and invited all the people from Erzurum in Ankara to the fair.
