THE FIS SNOWBOARD WORLD CUP COMPLETED IN ERZURUM.  MEDALS PRESENTED BY RECTOR HACIMÜFTÜOĞLU

175 athletes from 19 nations participated in the FIS Snowboard World Cup, which was held at the Palandöken and Konaklı Ski Resorts in Erzurum. The event was a source of great excitement. At the award ceremony on the final day of the competition, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu underscored the significance of the organization for Erzurum and Turkey, as medals were distributed to the victorious athletes.

 "Erzurum is Emerging as a Winter Sports Hub"

 At the award ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu underscored the significance of Erzurum's hosting international organizations in both science and sports. He stated, "Erzurum is now becoming one of the leading winter sports centers not only in Turkey but also in the world, thanks to its natural resources and infrastructure investments." The promotion of both our metropolis and our country is greatly enhanced by the presence of such international organizations. We are honored to have played a role in this advancement as Atatürk University. Our university will persist in its active participation in this process through its academic pursuits in organization administration and sports sciences. Championship Won by Australia

 The mixed team category at the FIS Snowboard World Cup was won by Josie Baff and Cameron Bolton from Australia. The United Kingdom's Charlotte Bankes and Huw Nihtingale secured the second position, while Austria's Pia Zerkhold and Lukas Pachner secured the third position.

 At the award ceremony, the athletes were presented with medals by Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi, Metropolitan Mayor Mehmet Sekmen, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Erzurum Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, and other protocol members.

 Erzurum Is Recognized as the Tourism Capital of 2025

 Erzurum, which was designated as the 2025 Tourism Capital by the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), garners attention as the European Winter Sports Capital. The city is preparing to host numerous international events in the near future, with the goal of enhancing its tourism potential through partnerships with organizations like the FIS Snowboard World Cup.
