ACCREDITATION OF GASTRONOMY AND CULINARY ARTS DEPARTMENT RENEWED BY TURAK
Atatürk University Faculty of Tourism Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department was accredited by the Tourism Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board (TURAK).
The quality education provided by the Faculty of Tourism, which produces knowledge and value in order to provide the education, research and service needed by the tourism sector, has been registered. Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, which was accredited for one year in 2021, applied to TURAK for the renewal of the accreditation. The field visit of the TURAK Evaluation Team, which took into account international criteria in its Self-Evaluation Report, was made on 15-16 November with 18 different sessions.
After the field visits, as a result of the interim accreditation evaluation of the Tourism Faculty Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Undergraduate Program, it was decided to be accredited with "Full Accreditation" for 3 years as of 01.01.2022 according to the TURAK directive.
Rector Çomaklı: “We Act With An Innovative Education Approach”
Pointing out that the tourism sector is one of the fastest developing and growing sectors in the world economy, Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı told that the tourism sector, which is the locomotive sector in the economic and social development of many countries, has become one of the main sectors with an important function in the development of countries.
Rector Çomaklı stated that the rapid development of the tourism sector in the world and in Turkey has also increased the need for qualified workforce to work in this sector. He also told that the quality education given by TURAK in this direction was registered.
Çomaklı thanked everyone who contributed to the positive outcome of this process, and added that many departments that have applied for accreditation are in line, adding that he believes they will be accredited in the near future.
