GAZI MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK COMMEMORATED WITH ORGANIZED EVENTS
Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, was commemorated at Atatürk University with various events and programs organized on the occasion of the 84th anniversary of his death.
Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı attended the 10 November Atatürk Commemoration Program, which started with the presentation of wreaths at the Atatürk Monument at the Poolside. In the program, which was held with the participation of state officials, when the clocks showed 5 past 9, a two-minute silence was held accompanied by sirens, and then the flags were lowered at half-mast with the singing of the National Anthem.
Wreath Laid at Atatürk Youth and Science Monument
At the same time, a commemoration program was held at Atatürk University. Vice-rectors, faculty deans, academic and administrative staff, students and citizens attended the ceremony held at the Atatürk Youth and Science Monument. The ceremony, which started with the laying of a wreath by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Atilla Keskin, ended with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem.

The program started with an emotional speech by Muhammet Totik, the Turkish Language and Literature Teacher at Nurettin Topçu Social Sciences High School, on the meaning and importance of the day. It ended with the students' presentation of Atatürk Oratorio.

Making an evaluation on the occasion of November 10 Atatürk Commemoration Day, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı stated that many events were organized at the University for the meaning and importance of the day and said: “The founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who devoted his entire 57-year life to his nation and ideals, is undoubtedly one of the most important leaders of the world that humanity has raised throughout history. Our University, which continues to strive to be a guide to life by preserving the basic values of our Republic, continues to produce, train and develop it with the awareness of its responsibilities. With our studies in all fields of science and our professionally equipped and trained human resources that are the guarantee of our future, we continue on our way about the future vision of our country.
