THE AWARDS FOUND THEIR OWNERS IN THE TRADITIONAL STORY, ESSAY AND SHORT FILM SCRIPT COMPETITION

Awards found their owners in the Traditional Stories, Essays and Short Film Script Competition jointly organized by Ataturk University and Language and Literature Association of Turkey Erzurum branch.

In the contest held online due to Covid-19 measures, distinguished stories, essays and short film scenarios competed. Award-winning works in the contest themed "Living in Erzurum" were preselected by officials in Ataturk University, Turkey Language and Literature Association Erzurum Branch and the Ministry of Education.

The commission determined the works that deserved to receive three achievement awards and one honorable mention among the pre-selected works and presented their awards to the owners of the works.

While Özlem Çelik became the first, Mücahid Yaman the second and Hikmet Ardıl Küçükyılmaz the third, in the field of story, no work was awarded in the field of short film script. In this field, Hanifi Karadağ came second and Ali Yavilioğlu came third.

The prize in the contest was 1,500 TL for the first, 1000 TL for the second, 750 TL for the third, and the book series The Faces of Erzurum, a publication of Atatürk University, with a one-year subscription to the Language and Literature Magazine.

Drawing attention to the fact that the first Traditional Story, Essay and Short Film Script Competition is a fruit of University-NGO cooperation, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı congratulated the winners of the contest, stating that such activities will continue in order to support cultural and artistic activities, and that young writers with high imagination will continue to be discovered thanks to such competitions.
