VICE PRESIDENT ÖMER İLERI VISITED ATATURK UNIVERSITY

AK Party Deputy Chairman Ömer İleri, who came to Erzurum to attend the Winter Science Festival organized by Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, in which Atatürk University is among its stakeholders, visited Atatürk University.
Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen and AK Party Erzurum Provincial President Mehmet Emin Öz accompanied AK Party Deputy Chairman Ömer İleri. Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı welcomed the guests at the Rectorate office. Rector Çomaklı, who informed Ömer İleri about the studies carried out by the university, took into account the New HCE Vision approach of Atatürk University; stated that they carry out studies in terms of education, R&D, industry, and benefit to society. Rector Çomaklı, who stated that Atatürk University aims to be among the top 500 universities globally, emphasized that they have performed well in many fields in this ranking and that efforts are continuing to raise the bar even higher.

Saying that he is pleased to be at Atatürk University, one of Turkey's most well-established and brand-valued educational institutions, Vice President İleri thanked Rector Çomaklı for his support to the Winter Science Festival. Noting that Atatürk University has an essential mass with its students and graduates, İleri emphasized that many Atatürk University graduates have undertaken essential duties across the country.

Rector Çomaklı presented Ömer Ileri with the book titled "The Establishment Story of Atatürk University 1935-1958 From the Archives". After reviewing the book, when he came across Maarif Vekil Tevfik İleri, who attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Atatürk University, he stated that Tevfik İleri was his grandfather and said that it was an honor to be in the same place years later.

Visiting Ata Ice Museum and Biodiversity

After visiting the Biodiversity Museum within the Biodiversity Application and Research Center, one of the important museums of Atatürk University, Ömer İleri, and his accompanying delegation met with the Center Director Prof. Dr.Levent Gültekin. Prof. Gültekin gave information about the museum. Inspecting the frozen animal and plant species in the museum with interest, İleri congratulated Rector Çomaklı, who brought such a distinguished museum to the University and Erzurum.

After visiting the Biodiversity Museum, Ömer İleri visited the Ata Ice Museum, which is the only ice museum in Turkey, examined the works exhibited at minus 10 degrees Celsius. Stating that the works were crafted by the faculty members and students of the Sculpture Department, Ata Ice Museum Coordinator Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bulat gave information about the works to the guests.
