FIRST ACCREDITATION APPLICATION OF FACULTY OF FINE ARTS TEXTILE AND FASHION DESIGN DEPARTMENT
Atatürk University Faculty of Fine Arts made its first accreditation application through the Department of Textile and Fashion Design.
The department, which received a positive opinion during the file review process, was visited by the Design and Planning Accreditation Association (TAPLAK). Within the scope of the site visit, TAPLAK delegation paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Rector of Atatürk University. Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Bünyamin Aydemir and department academicians also took part in the visit.
During the visit, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu shared information about the general structure and strategic goals of the university with the TAPLAK delegation and drew attention to the importance of steps to raise quality standards. Rector Hacımüftüoğlu: ‘Our university attaches great importance to accreditation processes at national and international level. The application of the Department of Textile and Fashion Design is the first step of this process that started in the Faculty of Fine Arts. I believe that this initiative will set an example for other departments and will further raise our academic standards. We aim to increase our education quality day by day by cooperating with valuable organisations such as TAPLAK.’
Prof. Dr. Bünyamin Aydemir, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, emphasised the importance they attach to qualified education and training processes as a faculty: ‘We would like to thank all our academic and administrative staff, especially our Rector, who supported us in this process. We believe that accreditation will be an important milestone in the development of our departments.’
The TAPLAK delegation expressed their satisfaction by making detailed examinations about the physical facilities and education quality of the department during the field studies carried out within the scope of the visit. The delegation stated that they appreciated the sensitivity of the university to the accreditation process.
