Atatürk University hosted ICOLDE 2021
International Congress on Open Learning and Distance Education (ICOLDE 2021) was held in cooperation with Atatürk University Open Education Faculty and Distance Education Application and Research Center.
The opening speeches of the congress themed "Open Learning and Distance Education in the Post-Pandemic Period" held online on 9-10 October 2021 were made by the founding president of the congress and the Dean of the Open Education Faculty Prof. Dr. Erdem Kocadağıstan. In the congress, which was held with the participation of 319 people from 30 different universities and held in 20 sessions, the main concepts and theoretical perspective in the field of open learning and distance education, environment and tools, design, development and evaluation, management, research and applications and related sub-titles were discussed. Scientists from various universities, researchers from various institutions and organizations working in different fields, field experts and graduate students came together and shared their knowledge, experience and ideas.
A Total of 85 Papers Applications Was Made
British Open University faculty member Prof. Dr. Martin Weller, Associate Professor of The National University of Distance Education, Spain Dr. Inés Gil Jaurena and EADTU General Manager George Ubachs attended the panel as invited speakers, and simultaneous Turkish language translation support was provided to the participants by using the simultaneous translation feature during the speeches of the invited speakers. In addition, panels titled "Learning Analytics", "Open and Distance Learning Field Journals" and "Applied Course Design in Open Education" were held by scientists who are experts in their fields with the participation of many researchers.
In ICOLDE2021, where 85 paper applications were made in total, 87 of these papers were evaluated twice by the referee, 38 of the papers were accepted directly and 21 of them were accepted by requesting correction.
