The project named "Rapid Diagnostic Kit Technologies for Combating Antimicrobial Resistant Mastitis in Dairy Cattle" prepared by Assoc. Prof. Seyda Cengiz and his team within the scope of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) and the scope of cooperation between the British Council Associate program and submitted to the TÜBİTAK 2551 Newton Program, was awarded to be supported.
stating only six universities in Turkey were awarded for support by TUBITAK and the cooperation between the British Council and they are quite happy for the support to their project, Assoc. Prof. Seyda Cengiz stated that they set out with the goal of developing an advanced biotechnological diagnostic kit for the rapid and on-site diagnosis of mastitis (breast inflammation caused by obstruction of milk ducts and often with infection), which causes significant economic losses in dairy businesses, and to support the immune system of lactating animals with a special nutrition program.
In line with this goal, Cengiz stated that he is proud on behalf of him and his team that the project, which was developed in the laboratories of the Department of Microbiology of the Atatürk University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, was approved within the scope of an international program.

Rector Çomaklı congratulated the academicians who contributed to the preparation of this project submitted to the TÜBİTAK 2551 Newton Program and deserved to be supported internationally and wished success to the project team.
The biotechnological studies of the project, which will be conducted by Atatürk University on behalf of Turkey and University of Glasgow on behalf of United Kingdom will be done at Ataturk University of Veterinary Vaccines and Biological Products in Research, Development and Application Center. Led by Assoc. Prof. Seyda Cengiz, the project team consists of Prof. Dr. Armağan Haylı and Dr. Lecturer M. Cemal Adıgüzel as well as the students studying in undergraduate and graduate programs.
