VISIT FROM KADEM TO RECTOR ÇOMAKLI
The directors of the Women and Democracy Association (KADEM) Erzurum Representation Office visited Atatürk University Rector. Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı. KADEM Provincial Representative Fatime Alkan and board members met with Rector Çomaklı during the visit at the rectorate office.
During the visit, Rector Çomaklı stated that university-NGO collaborations aim to contribute to the transfer of knowledge in universities to benefit the society and emphasized that the main duty of universities is to provide education and training services on the one hand, and to conduct research in basic and applied fields on the other.
Stating that there is a Women's Issues Application and Research Center within Atatürk University, Prof. Dr. Çomaklı said that empowering women, who make up half of the population, in every field is one of the most important conditions of development and social reconciliation.
Stating that as KADEM, they provide training to many women on topics such as family communication, personal development seminars, health and politics, Alkan stated that they are considering holding international congresses, youth symposiums and different events with Atatürk University as a stakeholder.
The visit ended with the planning of joint works and the conveying of goodwill wishes.
