ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY ACCREDITED BY YÖKAK
Atatürk University has been accredited for 2 years within the scope of the "Institutional Accreditation Program" implemented by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) in the field of higher education.
Atatürk University, which was started to be implemented by YÖKAK for the first time in 2020 and completed the evaluation process within the scope of the Institutional Accreditation Program, to which nearly 60 institutions among 209 universities applied and 12 universities were accredited in 2021, was entitled to be accredited after the evaluation program carried out by independent evaluation teams.
Stating that as a result of the meeting held by the Higher Education Quality Board in July, it was decided to accredit Atatürk University for 2 years, YÖKAK President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas congratulated Atatürk University for their devoted work. Stating that YÖKAK has been an independent institution since 2017, Prof. Dr. Elmas stated that as a result of the evaluations made in this direction, YÖKAK concluded that the quality assurance, education and training, research and development, social contribution and management processes at Atatürk University are in compliance with the YÖKAK-Corporate External Evaluation and Accreditation Criteria.
New Generation University Vision will Continue
Elmas, President of YÖKAK, emphasized the importance of carrying out the planned activities in the coming period in the "New Generation University Design and Transformation Project", which was initiated to establish the relationship between institutional policies at Atatürk University, the holistic structure in policies and the internal quality assurance system, and to ensure that they are managed holistically: “Congratulations to Atatürk University, which has been accredited for two years; I would like to thank our managers who have led and contributed to the process, the members of the institution's quality commission and all the stakeholders of the institution.
Quality in Education and Training Certified
Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı started his speech with the words “With the accreditation of Atatürk University it has proven the quality in education and training”, adding that they created a strategic action plan within the scope of the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project, and that they aimed to reach international quality standards in all educational activities by taking the Higher Education Quality Assurance Regulation as their guide in this process, and they achieved this goal by being accredited by YÖKAK for 2 years. .

Emphasizing that Atatürk University, which integrates up-to-date approaches in education and training and continues its efforts to meet the changing needs and expectations of the age, continues its studies on the quality process without slowing down, Çomaklı said: "We have come a long way with a large-scale academic change-transformation campaign. In this process, we have further strengthened the science climate at our university.”

Rector Çomaklı stated that Atatürk University, which is integrated with its region and has a thematic structure that supports lifelong learning, and has a dynamic and student-oriented management model, has turned into a peaceful and strong educational institution with high scientific diversity and academic potential has moved beyond the campus borders. The increase in institutional and social contribution, the steps taken towards internationalization and successful results in research and development form the basis of the success of our university. What is the Institutional Accreditation Program?
Following the meeting between the evaluation teams formed by YÖKAK, Institutional Accreditation Program consists of evaluations in three stages: preliminary visit, remote visit and face-to-face visit. In these evaluations, universities are evaluated over 22 criteria and 56 sub-criteria under the headings "The Quality Assurance System", "Education and Training", "Research and Development", and "Social Contribution and Management System." As a result of the evaluation made by the evaluation team, the Institutional Accreditation Report is prepared and submitted to YÖKAK. Universities are accredited by evaluating the maturity level of the quality assurance system in institutions by the board.
