Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı and Karabük University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Kırışık signed 3 separate protocols covering the Health Sciences Festival, Social Sciences Festival and academic cooperation between the two universities.

Speaking at the signing ceremony held in the Rectorate office, Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı emphasised the importance of establishing strong and sustainable cooperation between the two universities. Çomaklı: "With these protocols, we will take great steps both academically and in terms of the development of students and faculty members. Especially the festivals to be organised in the fields of Health Sciences and Social Sciences will expand the horizons of our students and contribute to their academic success."

Prof. Dr. Fatih Kırışık, Rector of Karabük University, emphasised that the cooperation protocols will accelerate the relations between the two universities. Kırışık: "In addition to academic cooperation, we will support each other with social and cultural activities. Our students and academic staff will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences through these festivals."

Health Sciences Festival (Sağlıkfest)

The Health Sciences Festival, which draws attention as the national health sciences field festival organised with the participation of many stakeholders in Turkey with its mission including innovative approaches, will bring together students and academicians of the two universities in the field of health and provide information exchange. Seminars, workshops and panels will be organised within the scope of the festival. In this context, Sağlıkfest represents an integrity consisting of a total of eight model design competitions under high school, associate degree, undergraduate, graduate and free category, and professional, cultural, artistic, educational and sportive field activities. With the protocol signed in this field, Sağlıkfest aims to put forward innovative health models with model design competitions for the current and future problems of health, which is the most fundamental right of humanity.

Social Sciences Festival (Sosyalfest)

The Social Sciences Festival will bring together students and academics working in the fields of sociology, psychology, history and other social sciences. The festival will be enriched with various events and academic sessions. "National Social Sciences Movement" with the Socialfest movement, the power of youth and science will unite and Turkey and the world will be provided to develop innovative solutions to human and society-centred problems.

With the signed academic cooperation protocol, student and faculty exchange programmes, joint projects and publications will be carried out between the two universities. Thanks to these collaborations, it is aimed to increase the quality of academic studies and to sign more internationally recognised projects.

The rectors of the two universities stated that all necessary steps will be taken for the realisation of these protocols and wished the cooperation to be beneficial for both institutions.
