SNOW SCULPTURES ATTRACTED GREAT INTEREST
The snow and ice sculptures designed for the Eastern Anatolia Career Fair (DAKAF’20), which was organized with the support of the Presidential Human Resources Office and hosted by Atatürk University to guide the career planning of students studying at universities in the Eastern Anatolia region, attracted great interest.
The Ice Production Center, one of the projects implemented within the framework of the New Generation University Vision launched under the leadership of Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, presented its first products to the appreciation of the citizens.
Atatürk University Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) academicians and students participated in the Fair, which was held at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Fair Center with a different study. In addition to the ice moulds obtained at the ice Production Center, the snow masses collected from different points of the city, as a result of 3 days of work, giant sculptures including the national car developed by the Turkish automobile Enterprise Group (TOGG) were produced.
The statues of the madrasa with double minarets, one of the symbols of Erzurum alongside TOGG by FFA team, and the Eastern Anatolia Observatory (DAG), supported by the Presidential strategy and Budget presidency and led by Atatürk University and which is among the 2023 Vision projects of the Republic of Turkey, were also the focus of attention.
7 Gates Of Erzurum Symbolized
Dean Of The Faculty Of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bulat gave information about the Seljuk gate at the entrance of the Fair, which first greeted the visitors who wanted to enter the event. Referring to the 7 gates of Erzurum, he said that they had combined the work they had done with the double-headed eagle motif and revealed a work with a high aesthetic aspect. Prof. Dr. Bulat, who stated that they were very happy with the interest of the sculptures which were uncovered as a result of intense efforts with a team of about 30 people, thanked those who had contributed.
The guests who visited the Fair showed great interest in snow and ice sculptures and did not neglect to take commemorative photographs.
