RED CRESCENT BOUTIQUE STORE OPENED AT ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY

38th store of the Red Crescent Boutique Stores, which provide clothing aid to those in need, were put into service at Atatürk University.

Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, Red Crescent Deputy Chairman Ercan Tan, Red Crescent Erzurum Branch President Hüseyin Bozhalil and Red Crescent executives and vice-rectors, unit managers, center managers, academics and many students participated in the opening ceremony.

Kızılay, which opened its 38th store at the entrance of the Atatürk University Central Refectory in Turkey, will deliver unused and second-hand clothes to students in need at Atatürk University.

The store will be open 3 days a week

The Red Crescent administration, which aims to deliver donations made by charitable owners to students in need through Atatürk University, is spreading this activity, which is carried out in terms of social solidarity, throughout the country. Red Crescent Deputy Chairman Ercan Tan, who said  that they would reach out to those in need via e-mail and text message thanks to the list to be obtained from the university administration and that they would invite them to the store, asserted that they maintained this service in Erzurum, which they started throughout Turkey. Stating that the store, which would be open 3 days a week, had a very modern appearance, Deputy Chairman Tan, thanked everyone, especially Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, who led them to deliver products obtained from companies, industry representatives and charitable people to those in need. 

“We Are Assertive in Resolving Deficiencies”

Rector Çomaklı, who stated that they made a great effort  to ensure the students studying at university not to go hungry or be shelterless since the accession day, said that the opening of this center was very important in this respect. Stating that Turkish Republic was a noble nation, Rector Ömer Çomaklı said that he was proud to be a member of a state that protects and takes care of its citizens and fulfills all their needs, and he also said that they would show the necessary sensitivity for this charity service, started as a result of the step taken, to properly reach out to those in need in this context. Reminding that Dress and Go workshop was opened recently in Atatürk University, Prof. Dr. Çomaklı said: “Thanks to these units, we aim to reach all those in need. We are assertive in eliminating deficiencies and we continue to do what is necessary in this direction. With these feelings and thoughts, I would like to thank those who contributed to the opening of such a precious center, and hope that the Red Crescent Boutique Store will be beneficial to our city and our university.”

The delegation, which came together at the Rectorate after the opening ceremony, signed a cooperation agreement in order to carry out joint studies, develop social responsibility projects and conduct studies that would raise awareness.
