The Faculty of Communication conducted the Media Training Program in collaboration with the Erzurum Governorate and Atatürk University.

 The Faculty of Communication hosted an event that was attended by a number of academics and students, including Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Engin Avcı, Yakutiye District Governor Tuncay Kaldırım, and Faculty of Communication Dean Prof. Dr. Raci Taşçıoğlu.

 The objective of this program is to enhance the competencies of employees in the field of press and public relations, establish effective communication with the media, utilise social media effectively, strengthen the corporate image, and implement the appropriate communication strategies during times of crisis. It was developed to ensure that institutions manage their media and communication processes professionally. The program will also aim to enhance the institution's ability to communicate with the public more effectively and accurately by promoting cognisance of topics such as official correspondence rules, media ethics, and legal responsibilities.

 Dean Taşçıoğlu: "Media Training Will Start a New Era in Corporate Communication"

 Prof. Dr. Raci Taşçıoğlu, the Dean of the Faculty of Communication, delivered the inaugural speech of the program and emphasised the strategic significance of these trainings for institutions. Prof. Dr. Taşçıoğlu underscored the importance of media as a powerful tool for institutions to establish a connection with the outside world, particularly in the digital era. He stated, "Institutions' capacity to effectively communicate the appropriate messages to their target audiences is contingent upon the professional use of media and the effective management of digital platforms." By enhancing our employees' communication and media skills, these trainings will facilitate our progress towards our corporate objectives. Lastly, Prof. Dr. Taşçıoğlu expressed his conviction that the program will produce advantageous outcomes for institutions. He also stated that these trainings will significantly enhance corporate awareness and elevate communication processes to a more professional level. He extended his gratitude to all those who contributed.

 Rector Hacımüftüoğlu: "Media Has Become an Indispensable Part in Every Segment of Society"

 Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector of Atatürk University, underscored the significance of the "In-House Training Seminars Media Training Program" during his address, which focused on the influence of media and social media. During the vaccination process, Rector Hacımüftüoğlu observed that social media was 86 times more effective than clinical application rates, which resulted in a significant increase in the number of individuals vaccinated. He also stated that the pandemic process revealed the critical nature of media interaction. Prof. Dr. Hacımüftüoğlu: "In the present day, media has become an essential component of all facets of society." At Atatürk University, we are fortifying the connections we have cultivated with our own media management and media stakeholders regarding this matter. Increasing the media literacy of university personnel, educating them on the proper and effective use of social media, and assisting them in adapting to the current media landscape were the primary objectives of the training program. "He stated that he is confident that these seminars will enhance the institution's relationships with the media and enhance the knowledge and skills of its employees."

 Rector Hacımüftüoğlu, who declared that the Media Training Program will be conducted by expert trainers in the field and is designed to offer a comprehensive experience to the participants, stated, "In this direction, employees will acquire an understanding of the dynamics of the media world and will have the opportunity to be more effective in internal and external communication." I would like to express my gratitude to all those who contributed, with a special mention to our Governor, Mustafa Çiftçi, who spearheaded the event's organisation. I am confident that this program will be highly beneficial to the media units and public relations teams of our city's institutions.

 Governor Çiftçi: "The Digital Age is Redefining communication processes."

 In his address at the In-House Training Seminars Media Training Program, which was organised by the Faculty of Communication in partnership with the Erzurum Governorship and Atatürk University, Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi emphasised the significance of the training seminars that were conducted in the past. The seminars on the Law on the Protection of Personal Data, as well as the trainings on responding to CİMER applications and official correspondence rules, were particularly highlighted by Governor Çiftçi. The seminars were conducted by experts and board members.

Governor Çiftçi expressed his gratitude to all units that assisted in the seminar's organisation and emphasised that these trainings are instrumental in enhancing the effectiveness of communication processes within institutions. Governor Çiftçi underscored the significance of utilising the media's power to effectively communicate with the public and convey messages, stating that the training was not merely organised for formality but also to enhance institutional awareness and enhance the competencies of employees.

 After the opening speeches, the program continued with presentations by Prof. Dr. Hakan Temiztürk on City News in Local Media, Prof. Dr. Besim Yıldırım on News and Text Writing Techniques, Prof. Dr. Raci Taşçıoğlu on Effective Communication, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Ethem Zinderen on Social Media Techniques, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ülhak Çimen on New Generation Technologies in Photography and Video.
