Since the beginning of the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) process at Atatürk University, the evaluation process of the personal data obtained as a result of the meetings held with nearly 300 unit managers and personnel over 60 hours continues meticulously. The Data Controllers Registry Information System (VERBIS) Notification has come to an end, which is the most important part of the system.

Under the leadership of Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı and under the leadership of Gökay Akkaya, Atatürk University KVKK Board President Prof. Dr. Atilla Keskin and Data Management Office Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Gökay AKKAYA and under the responsibility of Data Protection Specialists Gülhan Karadağ Ağkurt and Uğur Küçükoğlu, the VERBIS notification, which includes the data categories collected within the defined period, was successfully carried out as a result of the ongoing studies within the period allotted to the institutions.

It has been reported that while the procedures aiming to regulate the obligations of real and legal persons who process personal data and the rules to be followed in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data are being implemented in Atatürk University units, the necessary studies for the distribution of other relevant procedures integrated into the units by the KVKK unit are also continuing.

 Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı made a statement on the subject that the Personal Data Protection Law is a proof of the importance our country attaches to the protection of personal data, and added that as Atatürk University, they attach great importance to the protection of personal data on individuals.

Stating that personal data should be protected in order to ensure privacy, Prof. Dr. Çomaklı stated that the concept of data privacy is of vital importance for individuals, institutions, organizations and even countries, and Atatürk University, acting with this thought, continues its efforts to protect personal data without interruption.
