Arriving in Erzurum for several visits, Malatya Turgut Özal University Rector Prof. Dr. Recep Bentli, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Gündüz and University Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Selim Özkan visited Atatürk University and met with Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer çomaklı.

During the visit, which took place in the Rectorate office, mutual views were shared and bilateral university connections were discussed. Rector Çomaklı said he was pleased with the visit and that university cooperation gives great benefits and helps to appreciate the higher education of this country.

Rector Çomaklı underlined that Atatürk University is one of Turkey's brand universities with almost 600 000 students; education, R&D, industry and scientific studies are carried out in terms of benefit to society; also stated that the university is an educational institution open to all ideas, versatile to the age and takes firm steps towards internationalisation.

According to Rector Bentli, Atatürk University is an institution with a strong educational culture that performs outstanding studies; these and similar meetings are quite important to improve the communication between universities and to prepare the ground for academic and administrative cooperation.

Rector Bentli underlined that, being a newly founded university, they would be happy to engage in joint research in several disciplines under bilateral collaboration and expressed gratitude for his hospitality.

Following the visit, Rector Çomaklı reported on the units built under the purview of the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project and attended the meeting at the Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit (BAP) with his guest Professor Bentli.
