RECTOR ÇOMAKLI RECEIVED A VISIT FROM THE DELEGATION OF THE MALAYSIAN INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY

As it persists in fortifying its institutional framework and augmenting its prominence within the scientific sphere, Atatürk University implements measures that foster collaboration among institutions. A protocol governing collaborative efforts was entered into between Ataturk University and the International Islamic University Malaysia within this framework.

Prof. Dr. Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, the rector of Malaysia International Islamic University, was cordially received by Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı. This gathering was organized in accordance with the university's internationalization objective, a critical deliverable of the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project.

In attendance at the Rectorate office were the following individuals representing the faculty: Prof. Dr. İhsan Efeoğlu, the faculty of engineering, Prof. Dr. Zainal Sanusi, the director of sustainability at International Islamic University Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Turgut Göğebakan, the vice rector of Atatürk University, Prof. Dr. Muhammed Kızılgecit, dean of the faculty of theology, and Prof. Dr. Taşkın Öztaş, coordinator of the foreign relations office.

"The Signed Protocol Will Strengthen the Relationship Between the Two Countries," said Rector Çomaklı.

Çomaklı, the rector, asserted that academic collaboration between the two nations facilitates the exchange of knowledge and expertise through the coordination of academic events, joint research initiatives, and interuniversity exchange programs. Such partnerships not only foster cultural interchange but also promote advancements in the scientific and academic domains. Rector Çomaklı expressed the hope that the protocol ceremony, which was orchestrated to foster academic mobility and fortify ties between the two institutions, would prove advantageous for all involved. He further stated that every effort had been made to elevate the standards of achievement at Atatürk University.

With the designation of a Research University, they are now able to compete with universities around the world, according to Rector Çomaklı: "I am convinced that this collaboration, which consists of mutually agreed-upon academic and student exchanges, joint research initiatives, and academic programs, represents a significant chance for our scholars and students to establish themselves as forces in the global arena. Furthermore, I am certain that the implementation of this protocol will significantly enhance cultural interchange and foster greater global comprehension. Thanking my esteemed counterpart Prof. Dr. Dzulkifli Abdul Razak for his contributions to this endeavor, I express my optimism that this collaboration, which seeks to enhance the academic and cultural exchange between the two universities, will prove fruitful.

"Cooperation Between Two Significant Countries of the Islamic World Is Growing," said Prof. Razak.

Throughout history, relations between Malaysia and Turkey have advanced on the foundation of mutual respect and cooperation, as emphasized by the rector. Razak asserted that diplomatic relations, cultural exchange, and trade ties between the two nations hold considerable promise for all parties involved: "Collaboration among universities in the realms of education and academia has witnessed a notable surge in recent years, in particular." Historical connections and shared cultural values between Malaysia and Turkey serve to fortify their scholarly collaboration. In light of the fact that these are two significant Islamic nations, research into Islamic sciences, culture, and language is a vital component of this partnership. Collaboration and combined undertakings between the two nations possess considerable potential for fostering regional and global peace, stability, and progress. Academic cooperation between Malaysia and Turkey is noteworthy due to these factors, which advances the interests of both nations and holds great potential for the future. Furthermore, it has the potential to foster greater recognition and collaboration among societies and individuals, thereby producing favorable outcomes on a global scale. Concluding this discourse, I express my gratitude to Rector Çomaklı for his gracious hospitality as a host, and extend my best wishes for the prosperity of the entire university community.

At the conclusion of the visit, the cooperation protocol was signed.

The Malaysian delegation met with Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Atilla Keskin to discuss the "New Generation University Design and Transformation Project," Prof. Dr. Bülent Çavuşoğlu at the Digital Transformation Office to discuss "Educational Technologies and Digitalization," and Prof. Dr. Kızılgeçit at the Faculty of Theology to discuss "Artificial Intelligence," subsequent to their visit to the rectorate.
