Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı came together with M. Akif Baransel, the Chairperson of Erzurum Atatürk University Members and Alumni Association (ERATÜN) and the members of the board, which is one of the meeting points of Atatürk University graduates.

 Vice rectors, university secretary general, faculty deans, directors of research centre, unit managers and office coordinators also attended the meeting at Tourism Application Hotel Uzay Restaurant.

“Atatürk University is  Proud of its Graduates”

Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı stated that he closely  followed the mutual spirit  that Atatürk University Members and Alumni Association (ERATÜN), which came together to bring together the graduates of Atatürk University and carry out joint studies together, developed  and the studies it carried out in terms of work and career  for old and new graduates.  He also added that  Atatürk University had graduated hundreds of thousands of students up till now  and they made a name in  every  field of life such as business, politics, art and sports, and fulfilled their  responsibilities in the best way.

Rector Çomakli remarked that they were working hard to enable Atatürk University, an important and effective institution with its well-educated human resources, technological infrastructure and the graduates acting with the awareness of being a Atatürk University member,  educate qualified and sophisticated people enriching the life. Rector Çomaklı also said: ''Atatürk University, which always supports the students in line with both the opportunities offered by the university during the education period and the education policies it carries out jointly with its stakeholders after graduation, is proud of the students it has educated and graduated today.

400 Thousand Graduates  in 62 Years

Rector Çomaklı who also shared information about the New Generation Design and Transformation Project with his guests said that they had developed a vision since the day of accession and offered service to 29 units in this scope. Rector Çomaklı emphasized that Career Planning and Alumni Monitoring Centre, which is one of the established units, has accomplished quite important works in a short period of time. He also said: ''We aim to identify 400 thousand graduates who have graduated so far through this centre, which organizes activities to identify the graduates of Atatürk University and to transfer the knowledge and experiences they have gained in working life to the students. It's a big project, but if it happens, we'll uncover a significant potential.''

Rector  Prod. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı lastly stated that they would be happy to come together with the Chairperson and the management of ERATÜN and that they would support any kind of cooperation.

M. Akif Baransel, the chairperson of ERATÜN, stated that they were pleased to return the place where they were educated as Atatürk graduates and thanked the entire Atatürk University family in the presence of Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı. Mr. Baransel stated that Rector Çomaklı and his team had prepared for this meeting in a more organized way than they themselves did and that this approach gave both  a lot of happiness and was a glimmer of hope for the future of the university.

Mr. Baransel pointed out that Atatürk University gained significant acceleration compared to the years when they were educated, and he said they observed that the university played the role of  a giant science centre which was digitalized, monitoring data control, producing patents with modern technology systems and carrying out the studies devoted to the country's added value.

Pointing out that they saw the excitement of embracing Erzurum in every individual from the moment they set foot in the city to the moment of the meeting,  Baransel, the chairperson of ERATÜN, said that they were proud of this and that they witnessed once again how important the university was for the city and the region.

Pointing out once again that the work carried out by means of the presentations made by the unit managers was once again highlighted, Baransel expressed his gratitude to the Rector Çomaklı and his team for the close attention paid on behalf of the person and the board and the steps taken for the cooperation, and he wished them  good luck in their studies.

The program came to an end with the planning of further cooperation between the two institutions in times to come.
