ENGINEERING FACULTY FUEL ANALYSIS LABORATORY ACCREDITED BY TÜRKAK

As a result of the audit conducted by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK), the Fuel Analysis Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering of Atatürk University was accredited within the framework of the TS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard and related regulations as of October 14, 2024. With this accreditation, the laboratory received a certificate of conformity to national and international quality standards valid until October 14, 2028.

The Laboratory Allows for Extensive and Comprehensive Research

In today's world where quality standards in the energy sector are rapidly increasing, the importance of accurate and reliable analysis services is increasing. The Fuel Analysis Laboratory operating within the Faculty of Engineering of Atatürk University responds to this need and provides services to regional and national public institutions and organizations, as well as the private sector, with high-tech and high-accuracy devices.

The laboratory, which prepares the ground for extensive and comprehensive research in line with the needs of the sector by performing solid and liquid fuel analyses through these services, aims to increase efficiency in energy production, minimize environmental impacts and ensure that scientific data regarding the sector is obtained. Stating that the accreditation process documents that the laboratory's quality management systems and technical competencies are in compliance with international standards, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering Prof. Dr. Taner Tekin stated that an important step has been taken in providing reliable and accurate analysis results.

Stating that Atatürk University Faculty of Engineering Fuel Analysis Laboratory will be a pioneer in supporting research conducted in the energy sector with higher quality and reliable data after the accreditation process, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. İhsan Efeoğlu stated that the laboratory will also make important contributions to projects in the fields of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Rector Hacımüftüoğlu: “The Accreditation of Our Laboratory is the Most Important Indicator of Its Compliance with the Quality Standard”

Stating that Atatürk University will continue its solution-oriented studies for the sector with both academic and industrial collaborations, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, in his assessment of the laboratory’s accreditation process, said: “As Atatürk University, we attach great importance to directing our scientific studies not only in the academic community but also in a way that will provide social benefit. The Fuel Analysis Laboratory is an important structure that serves this strategic goal of our university. The accreditation certificate granted by TÜRKAK has once again demonstrated our laboratory’s contribution to the sector and its compliance with internationally accepted quality standards. This accreditation is an important development not only for our university but also in the energy sector and environmental protection fields on a regional and national scale.” Prof. Dr. Hacımüftüoğlu also stated that the laboratory’s contributions to the energy sector by blending academic knowledge and research with practical solutions are also reflected in the university’s social responsibility projects. Hacımüftüoğlu, emphasizing that the university will continue to use its scientific infrastructure in line with local and national development goals within the framework of the “social contribution” approach, added that this important step was appreciated both in the academic world and in the sector as an indicator of Atatürk University’s scientific excellence and social responsibility approach.
