5 PROGRAMS FROM THE FACULTY OF ENGINEERING ACCREDITED BY MÜDEK

Atatürk University the Faculty of Engineering Computer, Electrical-Electronics and Industrial Engineering Programs have received the Engineering Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MÜDEK) Accreditation.

MÜDEK authorities visited the Faculty of Engineering on 1-3 May 2023 for the accreditation of 5 undergraduate programs within the Faculty of Engineering. Dr. They also met with Ömer Çomaklı.

During the evaluation process, after Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Recep Sadeler had given information  about faculties, departments and programs, MÜDEK Evaluation Team visited the laboratories, classrooms, libraries, study areas and other social space facilities of the faculty and its departments while holding meetings with the relevant faculty committees and commissions.

The MÜDEK Evaluation Team met with faculty members, research assistants, stakeholders, alumni and students of the programs to be accredited. After these visits in May, the team has decided to accredit formal and secondary education of Computer Engineering and Electrical-Electronics Engineering and formal education undergraduate programs of Industrial Engineering until 30.09.2025.

Stating that the accreditation process provides the opportunity to exhibit the work done at the university and faculty, Sadeler thanked the MÜDEK Evaluation Team for their professionalism and valuable opinions, adding: “The rigorous evaluations of our faculty, staff and students have confirmed their efforts and dedication to maintain high academic standards and continually improve our programs. This has also confirmed our commitment to international standards in engineering education, demonstrating that our graduates are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies to be successful in their chosen fields. I would like to thank our university administration, especially our Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer ÇOMAKLI and all our stakeholders for their invaluable supports.”

Rector Çomaklı stated that as a leading institution in engineering education in the region, we will continue to give priority to innovation and the advancement of knowledge in all academic studies, pointing out that accreditation is a result of high-quality education and continuous improvement efforts within the university.  Çomaklı: made the following remarks about the issue: “The mission of providing competent academic programs and ensuring that our students receive a well-rounded education is our top priority as a university administration. The successes achieved are the most important indicators that we are taking firm steps towards this goal. With these thoughts, I would like to thank the evaluation team for their meticulous evaluations, our dean, our academicians, our students and stakeholders for their efforts.”

What is MÜDEK?

Engineering Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MÜDEK) is an independent organization operating to contribute to improving the quality of engineering education by carrying out accreditation, evaluation and information studies for engineering education programs in various disciplines.

It is recognized as a national quality assurance organization by the Higher Education Quality Board for the accreditation of engineering programs.

It has been a full member of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE) since 17 November 2006.

Authorized by ENAEE to issue EUR-ACE Label,

and a signatory (member) of the Washington Accord (WA) since June 15, 2011.
