VIRTUAL REALITY STEP FOR NENE HATUN HISTORICAL NATIONAL PARK…

The promotion and preservation of Nene Hatun Historical National Park have been advanced through an innovative approach. The "Research on the Effects of Virtual/Augmented Reality Applications in the Promotion and Protection of Nene Hatun Historical National Park Project" was the subject of a protocol signed by Atatürk University and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Nature Conservation and National Parks 13, 13th Regional Directorate.

The 13th Regional Director of Nature Conservation and National Parks, Akif Ümüzer, and Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu were present at the signing ceremony, which took place at the Rectorate. The initiative was led by Prof. Dr. Metin Demir from the Faculty of Architecture and Design, and Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Bülent Çavuşoğlu and Prof. Dr. Hasan Yılmaz were also in attendance. The protocol addresses the sustainable management, promotion, and protection of the resource values of Nene Hatun Historical National Park through the effective use of virtual and augmented reality technologies.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu underscored the historical significance of Nene Hatun during his address at the ceremony, stating, "Nene Hatun Historical National Park is a heritage that bears witness to our nation's heroic and self-sacrificing past." Our objective with this initiative is to effectively utilize technology to increase conservation awareness and introduce the values of our park to a broader audience. We will persist in safeguarding our nation's natural and cultural heritage through our scientific endeavors as Atatürk University.

Director Ümüzer: "Awareness will be enhanced by the use of virtual and augmented reality"

Akif Ümüzer, the 13th Regional Director, emphasized the significance of Atatürk University's technological infrastructure, knowledge, and experience in the city. He also provided information about the protocol that was developed within this scope. Ümüzer stated that this project will serve as a significant example in the protection and promotion of national parks. He stated, "Thanks to virtual and augmented reality applications, we will be able to more effectively communicate the historical and natural treasures of our park to our visitors." In this process, we will incorporate an innovative element into the administration of our national parks, thanks to the scientific contributions of Atatürk University.

The historical, natural, and cultural assets of the national park will be more effectively promoted and protected through the development of virtual and augmented reality applications within the project's scope. Sustainable management strategies will be developed by the stakeholders through a collaborative study that analyzes the data collected during this process.
