Emphasizing that the accreditation of Atatürk University Private Food Control Laboratory, which was established within the scope of the Food Analysis Laboratories Coordinatorship, which was established about 2 years ago in line with the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project, by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK), is of great importance for the wide geography it serves, especially Erzurum. Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı emphasized that there is no laboratory of this scale in the Eastern Anatolia Region, and that the number of laboratories established within this scope within the university in our country is quite limited. Rector Çomaklı stated that as a result of a better understanding of the relationship between healthy life and nutrition, the demands of consumers for healthy and safe food are increasing day by day, and stated that food safety is one of the most current issues in our country, as it is in the world.

“Food Analyzes Are Performed in a Healthy Way”

Rector Çomaklı said, “Ensuring food safety is also extremely important in terms of raising healthy generations” and added: “There is a great need for well-equipped food analysis laboratories to identify physical, chemical and biological hazards originating from food, as well as frauds such as imitation and adulteration. Thanks to the Special Food Control Laboratory, which we have established with great efforts for this need, the analyzes of the foods are made in a healthy way and all kinds of counterfeiting are prevented.”
