PROF. DR. MURAT KURUDIREK RECEIVED THE 2021 TÜBİTAK INCENTIVE AWARD

The "TÜBİTAK Science, Special, Service and Encouragement Awards" given annually by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) to support research and development activities in scientific and technological fields, and to enable scientists and researchers to be trained and developed, found their owners.

In this context, Atatürk University, Vocational School of Technical Sciences Lecturer Prof. Dr. Murat Kurudirek was deemed worthy of the 2021 TÜBİTAK Incentive Award for his outstanding work on "radiation safety in the field of nuclear science and technology, radiation detectors, advanced materials in nuclear technologies, atomic properties, interaction with photon and particle radiation" at the international level.

Expressing his feelings on the subject, Prof. Dr. Murat Kurudirek: “I am very happy to be considered worthy of such a prestigious award. Rewarding our efforts to catch up with the changing and transforming age, to follow the current and to produce ideas that will improve them greatly contributes to our morale and motivation. I would like to express that I feel the privilege of working at Atatürk University, which is an important value for its country, in every field. I would like to thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı. I would like to express my endless thanks to everyone who stood by me.”

Ataturk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, Congratulating Technical Sciences Vocational School Lecturer Prof. Dr.Murat Kurudirek for his work, research and the incentive award he received: “I find it very motivating that such awards are given to scientists. Science service incentive awards, which have become traditional by TÜBİTAK, are a very important source of honor and pride in this sense. We will continue to work to create a suitable climate to contribute to science and society with the scientific studies carried out at our university. On this occasion, I congratulate Prof. Dr. Murat Kurudirek for the award he received and wish him continued success.”

"TÜBİTAK Science, Special, Service and Encouragement Awards” will be presented to the award winners by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on 28 December 2021.

TÜBİTAK Encouragement Award and Prof. Dr. Murat Kurudirek

The TÜBİTAK Encouragement Award is given to scientists residing in Turkey, who have proven that they have the qualifications to make significant contributions to science at an international level in the future with their studies, and who do not exceed the age of 40 on the first day of the year the award is given.

Having 66 articles published within the scope of SCI have received more than 1700 citations and an h-index of 23. Prof. Dr. Murat Kurudirek is currently working as an experienced researcher in the project for the development of advanced nuclear detector materials based on nanotechnology, funded by the European Commission, Horizon2020 program, Marie-Curie actions.
