Prof. Dr. Nimet Yıldırım, a faculty member in the Department of Oriental Languages and Literatures of the Faculty of Letters at Atatürk University, was unanimously elected to serve as a member of the Scientific Board of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature (فرهنگستان زبان و ادب فارسی), one of the most esteemed scientific and cultural institutions in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 The vote of all academy members determined that Prof. Dr. Yıldırım was deserving of this esteemed position in recognition of her academic expertise, cultural contributions, and international recognition in the Persian Language and Literature. This decision was made at the board meeting on May 13, 2025. Prof. Dr. Yıldırım, whose membership was officially announced, was presented with the official document documenting her membership in the board by the President of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature and an important figure in the field of Science and Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ğolamali Haddad Adil, at the ceremony held in the capital Tehran.

 The board released the following statement: "We have elected you as a member of the Scientific Board in accordance with the unanimous decision made at the 483rd meeting of the Persian Language and Literature Council dated 1403/9/5. This decision was based on your exceptional contributions to the development of the Persian language and literature, as well as your high position in the fields of science, literature, and culture." We hope that you will continue to enjoy good health and success.

 In her speech at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nimet Yıldırım expressed her gratitude to the academy president and all board members for considering her deserving of this position. She stated, "It is a great honour for me to be under the scientific umbrella of a deep-rooted civilisation such as Persian Language and Literature." In order to further advance the shared cultural and literary heritage of two ancient allies and neighbours, Iran and Turkey, at the academic level, we will continue to expand our efforts. There is only a recompense for one's endeavours. The international recognition of our scientific endeavours, which we conduct with sincerity, care, and patience, is a significant source of joy for my university and country, as we are cognisant of our obligation.

 This international success achieved by Prof. Dr. Nimet Yıldırım is a concrete indicator of the university's scientific knowledge and capacity to generate universal value, according to Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, who conducted an assessment on the subject. Rector Hacımüftüoğlu stated, "The unanimous election of our esteemed professor to the most prestigious academic board of a country with a rich history in literature and culture, such as Iran, is not only an individual success, but also a manifestation of Atatürk University's influence in the international scientific community."
