The celebrations that was opened by the TRT Children's Choir brought about enthusiasm among the people in the hall with the poem recitings, music plays and folk dances.
''As Ataturk University, our greatest desire is to ensure that our children are educated in a safe and secure manner and that they can grow up as free individuals who are useful to society and to humanity'' said Rector Çomaklı and he stated: ''It is our greatest desire that our children, who will be responsible for our country in the coming days, should embrace our national ideals, equip with our spiritual values and grow up as being open to the world. With this belief and thought, I remember with respect and gratitude notably Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Pasha and the courageous and sacrificial members of our first parliament, which left us an independent and free country. I wish God's mercy to every child of Anatolia, who served with self-sacrifice in the struggle for independence. On this meaningful day, I would like to celebrate the day of our dear children, who have enhanced our enthusiasm and joy, and all of our people from my heart once again.''
